Hi! Popping in quickly today to share a card for the current Flourishes challenge, Touch of Gold. I used my Wild Roses set and started by stamping and heat embossing in gold the background sentiment strip. I then used the So Distressed stamp set to stamp my card background using the damask image and also embossed in gold powder. I then stamped, colored with Copics and fussy cut two of the rose images adding one extra leaf set to fill the whole panel in. I adhered the sentiment strip down flat but popped up all the roses. I finished by adding some gold Viva Pearl pen to the middle of the roses and Walnut Stain to distress the edge of the card. I hope you like it! Thanks so much for taking the time to visit me:)

Wishing you...TT254
The challenge at the Flourishes blog this week is to use buttons and a winter theme. I wanted this card to be easy to mail so I used paper, embossed buttons and realized that this winter bouquet is the only winter themed stamp set I have.
I stamped the sentiment in white pigment ink and at first it was a nice bright white and then I forgot to heat set it so when I added my sewing it smeared. So I went with it and added more white around to give a chalkboard look. I hope you like it! Thanks for visiting me :)

Hummingbird
Hi! I'm popping in to play with the current challenge over at Flourishes which is to "shape up". Make a shaped card! Here is what I created.
I chose a Spellbinders die to make my card base and then cut it again to give it the full panel front. I inked up Humming Along and colored with my Copic markers and a bit with my Prismacolor pencils. I fussy cut the hummingbird and popped it up on foam tape. Some twine and a few rhinestones finished it off. I hope you like it, I really do appreciate your comments! Thanks for stopping by :)

Sunshine...TT#243
Hello! I feel like it's been so long since I posted! I wanted to play along with the Flourishes challenge this week which is fussy cutting. Now that I have a Silhouette Cameo I want to buy some cut files for the stamps I have, but for no I just fussy cut this image myself :) This was a new to me image I won during Flourishes birthday celebration called Apple of My Eye. I think the apples and blossoms are gorgeous and they were a lot of fun to color. I used Copics for my coloring and then trimmed out the image. I kept it very CAS as this is going in the mail to a dear friend. The sentiment comes from the Hydrangea set. I hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me. I'd love to hear from you! xoxo

Eternal Summer
Flourishes is still celebrating their 6th birthday and I wanted to get in on a few more challenges. This one is for the inky background technique Heather Jensen presented. While I was thinking about what set to use, my Cherry Blossoms set came to mind as I could create a kind of scene with tree branches set on a colorful sky. I masked off a 1" circle to create a kind of sun and got to work sponging different Distress Ink colors. After the background was done I stamped the largest cherry blossom branch in Versafine Onyx Black and chose a sentiment from the Hydrangea set. This is super clean and simple but I do love the effect. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Always Flowers...
Flourishes is turning 6 and I wanted to join in the birthday fun. The first challenge is Black and White. I love how elegant that instantly makes anything :) I wanted to ink up a couple of new sets, Picking Wildflowers and the sentiment from Garden Gate. I adore that sentiment. It's true there is always beauty if you are looking. I stamped the image onto my cardstock and then ran it through a new embossing folder that's a big frame from The Paper Studio. I did add some shading to the flowers because it really made them pop more and I added a super light green to the stems. This card escaped the sequin obsession as the sparkly brad that just seemed perfect lent itself more to rhinestones :) Thanks so much for stopping by!

Roses Gift Box
Hello! I have been making an effort to join in more challenges, especially ones that I can use company specific stamps. I like getting them out more and well, it helps justify when you buy more too ;) Flourishes is having their new release going on as well as the Timeless Tuesday challenge, this enters both. The TT challenge is to use acetate, so I thought it would be a good time to make a little gift box and line the front window with a piece of acetate I had. I cut the box from the Wild Card Cricut cartridge and my roses come from a Year of Flowers Flourishes set and the little bee is from the Peony set. I'm building up my stash of little gifts to have on hand, makes it a lot less stressful when I need a little something for someone special. I hope you have a wonderful day!

I Believe...TT#225
I wanted to ink up my Flourishes Tea Rose set again and decided to play along with this week's challenge of scallops. I love scallops so that was easy :) I also played around with heat embossing white on vellum and coloring...oh my. I love it!! I found to really keep the image looking it's best after you are done it needs to be backed against white. I tried other colors and you loose the transparent, airy feel of the coloring you did on the vellum. My sentiment comes from the Flourishes Orchids set. I have these teeny tiny pearls that I bought online years ago thinking they were much bigger than they were and found out they were meant for nails, but I do pull them out and use them for things like this frame, but they are bit time consuming to glue on one by one ;) Thanks for stopping by and I do treasure your comments!

Hope Flourishes
Over at the Flourishes blog there is a designer focus going on where we get to see gorgeous work from the featured designer and then CASE something of theirs. I have been wanting to play with this lovely new image from Flourishes called Old Tea Rose. Hubby got it for me for Mother's Day :) I chose to CASE Christine's watercolor card that used the same image. I used my Tombow markers to do the water coloring with lots of heat drying in between. I love my Tombow markers and how much control I have using them to watercolor. Maybe that says something about me huh? Let's not go there ;) Well, I'm off to bed, thanks for dropping by!

TT#197 Merry Christmas
Joining in over at the Flourishes blog for this last week's challenge which is to use Gold or Silver. I opted for gold and finally inked up a set I've had for a couple of years *blush* called Lace Edges and heat embossed the bow strip. I thought the bows kind of said Christmas:) I used a sentiment from CHF and added a paper bow cut from my Artise cartridge. I plan to start writing and sending cards this week. Thanks for stopping by!

Flourishes Progressive Challenge
The Flourishes blog is having a progressive challenge and I wanted to play along. Go here to read all about it:) I made a card using all 4 of the steps, sketch, momochromatic, pattern paper and bling. I pulled out Holiday Bouquet and colored the image with Copics. For my bling I added a glittered strip of scor tape...I love that stuff so much! I am happy to be slowly making my Christmas cards...I've never done them this early before but it's not not to feel rushed. I hope you like it:) Thanks so much for dropping by and I'd love to hear what you think.

Little Things...Flourishes 5 senses challenge
The Flourishes blog is having a 5 senses challenge and I thought I'd play along. I pulled out my Swan Lake set and created this little scene that I thought captured all of the senses. For sight you have the lovely swan and glittering water (I added Stickles for the water after I colored it), for sound you have the soothing sound water would make as well as the sound of my Corner Chomper rounding all my corners, for touch again the glitter gives a bit of dimension and the middle of all the flowers along the border have liquid pearls added to them and for taste, it may be a stretch but again, cool refreshing water tastes wonderful and for smell all those flowers would smell lovely.
Anxiously awaiting to hear the final date and time hopefully still for this week for the cabinets to be put in. We got all the demolition done, the painting done and it looks great, so nice and clean. I will be happy to get it moving along though because washing dishes in the bathroom sink is getting a bit old...but it will be SO worth it when it's all done. Thanks for dropping by!

B is for boy...Flourishes challenge
Another challenge over at Flourishes was to use a letter as a focal point. This idea for a baby card came right to me, so I pulled out the Hello Baby set and stamped the "It's a boy!" for a background and then stamped and trimmed out the onsie for my focal point. Thanks for dropping by!
Just a Note~Flourishes challenge
It's release week at Flourishes so they have some extra challenges up and I'm playing along :) This one was to pop up something on your card. I used foam adhesive on all my mat layers and watercolored one of the images from Botanical Bookplates II. Kind of a different color combo for me, but I like how it turned out, hope you do too!

Richly Blessed
This card was born out of scraps all over my table :) I had made these little felt roses awhile back using a heart border die and finally used them. I stamped the background using Flourishes Lace backgrounder (which coordinates perfectly with PTI's Lace Bouquet) and added some pearls and the sentiment which was picked for a dear friend. I hope you are having a great week so far! Thanks for coming by.

Stiched Gift Ensemble
I wanted to make a friend of mine something to say how special and thankful I am for her, so I got out one of my favorite sets, Stitches and Swirls and got to work. I bought this set with projects like this in mind and the fact that it also makes gorgeous stamped work is just a plus :) I die cut the rectangles out of some very light weight cotton fabric and stamped my sentiment from the Flourishes Hydrangea set in Palette ink and heat set it. Then in a very light colored ink I stamped my images from the PTI Stitches and Swirls set. Then I embrodiered it. I used all the strands so that it looked really full. I then stitched on the ribbon attached to some tiny buttons and made a card to match. I must say I love how it came out and see many more little projects in the future;) I am even thinking little hanging pillows like this for baby would be so sweet and the local shop I work with is willing to try to sell anything I make so I think I'll give it a go. What do you think? I'd love to hear your comments. Thanks for visiting me!
TT#172~ Eternal Summer
This week's challenge over at the Flourishes blog was to create a white card with pearls. I really enjoyed putting this one together and finally inked up one of their newest sets, Hydrangea. I love these flowers though they don't grow here in Arizona...at least I can stamp and color them! I used very light pinks with a bit darker accents for my blooms and layered up lots and lots of white and finished it off with some Viva pen pearls. I wanted to keep the card mailable with no extra postage. Don't you love that sentiment? It is true! Thanks for coming by!

Pretty in Purple Flourishes Challenge
I joined in over at Flourishes for this month's release, to use purple. My mom loves purple and with Mother's Day just a few days away this was perfect...plus I got to ink up this new to me set, Orchids. So pretty! I grew up in Hawaii so these flowers are near to my heart. Growing up my poor mom tried and tried to grow an orchid in house and it would always die. She finally gave up and we just had them outside:) I used Copics on the flowers and did the out of the box technique again, love how it adds that little bit extra something. Hope you are having a good week!Sunday, May 6, 2012
Sweet baby....
I have a couple of baby cards to share with you using the latest Flourishes release. I really love this set, so sweet. The top card was colored using Copics and the bootie card I paper pieced. Yesterday our family went to a Cinco de Mayo celebration in which some some friends of ours kids were performing Ballet Folklorico. The kids enjoyed seeing the colorful costumes and dancing and it was in a very beautiful spot so it made a really nice day out. I hope you are having a good weekend!

Quiet Life~TT#167
Fun challenge over at Flourishes this week, use butterflies. Not hard at all for me as I love them ;) I inked up my new Lenton Rose set...*sigh* how I love it and each of the sentiments are wonderful too. I wanted to do the out of the box technique and love how it came out...will be doing this a lot more! I colored the image with Copics and though you can't tell I added some Clear Star gelly roll glitter to the water and the rose centers. Gives it just enough sparkle. I also wanted to pass along a new online shop I found called Chic and Savvy Crafters. They sell many of the Flourishes stamp sets and lots of dies as well as some other products and the best part is they ship stamp sets and dies FREE! I am thrilled to have found them and boy do they ship quick and I even got a little surprise gift. Hope you are having a great week!
