Masked Bird

I have been wanting to try this forever, using the negative space out of one of my Cricut cuts to use as a mask, so I finally did it. I used a bird image from Home Decor Cricut cartridge as my mask and sponged Tattered Rose Distress ink into the space. So neat to lift off the mask and see the perfect image. I then took one of my favorite Cornish Heritage Farms sets, Beautiful from the Rummage Bin and stamped the swirls on the bird and a branch for him to sit on. The sentiment is from PTI. I am really happy about how this came out and will be doing it again soon:) What do you think?

Cherry Blossoms

Happy Thursday! My card today uses another image from SNS called Cherry Blossom Branch. I colored it with Copics and added some white gel pen to the center of the blossoms. The flourish was cut using my Cricut and the butterfly is a MS punch. Don't forget to check out Scrapbook News and Review Sweet 'n Sassy group, we had a challenge each week there and lots of fun chatting too:)

Water Lily Thank You

I played along again over at Get Sketchy for this card. I used another new image from Sweet 'n Sassy called Water Lily. I colored it with a combination of Copics and Prismacolor pencils. The sentiment is embossed with detail embossing powder. I recently got the Ranger, Heat It heat gun and oh my! I LOVE it!! It is super quiet (which is great as I do all my crafting at night with everyone in bed) and it doesn't blow any of you embossing powder around and it heats up super quick. I'd highly recommend it:) I hope you like it and thanks for visiting me!

Tuesday Throwdown, Shadow Box

I've never made a shadow box card before and it was a lot fun and easy too! Here is a tutorial for how to make one from SCS. {HERE} I pulled out my Down Home Blessings set to make my card. I added some Stickles to the little chick and food. These cards would make fabulous Christmas cards as they are like a little gift themselves, I'll have to remember that for this year;) Hop on over to the Sherrod Studio blog and play along with us and to check out the rest of the DT's creations. Thanks for dropping by!

Pretty Flowers

A springy card for you today! I decided to leave the sentiment off this one as it will be easy to personalize when I need too. I used several supplies from Your Memories Here, the Primas, Pebbles ribbon, the Rosey Nook paper, the Mother's Day cart for the mats and a Swiss Dots embossing folder. For my scallop border I punched some 1" circles and adhered them under my mat layer. I hope you have a wonderful Monday!

Sweet Baby, Card Patterns Sketch 51

Happy Friday! I have a baby card to share with you today:) The sketch is based off Card Patterns 51. I used another one of my baby images, Baby Buggy, available at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I colored the image with Copics and added some pretty stickles and MS glitter. See those pretty roses? I found THIS tutorial on how to make them, so easy and don't they look like Primas?! I don't have the punch they used, but found a six petal flower off my New Arrival Cricut cartridge that worked just fine:) For the leaves I used my MS large hydrangea punch. I hope you have a fun weekend planned! Thanks so much for visiting me!

Wishing you Happiness

I pulled out some of my very neglected PTI stamps and made this little piece using Guidelines II. Oh how I love stamping my own backgrounds and pattern paper. I thought it would be fun to stamp it on kraft as I always seem to reach for white, though I still have white but now it pops more. I hope you like it:)

Tuesday Throwdown, Distressing

The challenge over at the Sherrod Studio blog this week is distressing. I love this technique and use it often with ink, but for my card today also added some ripped paper edging. The image is a new one from SNSS called One of a Kind, such a sweet image. Come join us over on the Sherrod blog and thanks so much for dropping by!

Indoor Snowman

So many of us around the country are getting a ton of snow this year, and where I am is no different. One evening we brought a little bit of the cold stuff in and had fun making this little snowman that the kids later ate :) I used Don Juan and A Child's Year Cricut cartridges and some pretty silver Dew Drops as well as a Cuttlebug embossing folder. All these great products are available at Your Memories Here.I hope you are staying warm and I sure do hope spring comes soon!

Baby Laundry

I love making baby cards and this image had been floating around in my head for quite some time so it was a lot fun to finally draw it:) It's called Precious Baby and is available at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I colored it up with my Copics and added a few little embellies and some stitching. A pretty simple card, but I like how it turned out, I hope you do too!

Daisy Birdhouse

I have a new one of my images to share with you today that you can go grab at the Sweet 'n Sassy Store, called Home Tweet Home. I colored it up with my Copics and for once left the flowers white, I always seem to forget that I am "allowed" to do that! I used some MM Chloe's Closet paper, MS eyelet border punch, some Primas, a QuickKuts embossing folder and did some sewing. I hope you like it and I hope you are staying warm....spring is not quite here for most of us!

PTI Princesses Challenge

Well, I finally got a chance to play along with my blogging group and pulled out some very neglected PTI stamps. The challenge was to make a 3-D project that you hadn't made before, so I chose this super cute purse cut off my Cricut cart, Tags, Bags & Boxes, and used Beautiful Blooms, Floral Frenzy and Butterfly Kisses to embellish my creation. Of course I had to make a matching card and went with a birthday sentiment as that's what I 'll use it for at some point. The colors are quite pink as you can see which are my favorite:) If you'd like to do some hopping visit the rest of the PTI Princesses, they are listed on my sidebar, they've all got talent! I hope you like it fellow Princesses!! :)

Tuesday Throwdown

This week we were challenged to create a CAS card, which I love doing. Mine is just stamping and is one layer. I used Sherrod Studio, Friendship Blossoms, a PTI sentiment and a border I got at Michael's. I rounded the bottom corners to add some extra interest and the middle of the flowers are embellished with a Stardust gelly roll pen. Stop by the Sherrod Studio blog to see the rest of the DT creations and to play along:) Thanks for stopping by!

Love LO

If there was just one word to sum up what I feel for my family that would be it: LOVE. This is an older picture that I finally got around to scrapping, hard to believe it was taken Thanksgiving Day 2008!! I used a whole bunch of goodies you can go grab at the Your Memories Here store. The flowers are Prima, Pebbles ribbon, Cuttlebug embossing edge folder, Rosey Nook paper and my favorite, Dew Drops. The butterfly was cut with my Cricut using A Child's Year. I love this butterfly but the cut isn't available as just the butterfly, only as a card, but I got the idea to just make a very small "card" glue the to halves together, and viola! you've got yourself a very pretty butterfly cut:) I hope you are enjoying your Monday, thanks for dropping by!

Sisters

Hello everyone:) Do any of you have a friend that is really more like family to you? I am blessed to have that and this card was inspired by her. The image is a new one over at SNSS and it's called Kate and Lizzy:Sisters. I computer generated the sentiment because that is how I feel about our relationship. I colored the girls with Copics and the flower is made with a Cuttlebug die and some twisted, scrunched tissue paper. The flourish was cut with my Cricut, which I must say I am proud to be using more ;) Take a moment to think on the special relationships in your life and be thankful for them today! See you soon:)

Bucket of Fun

Today's Throwdown Tuesday challenge over at the Sherrod Studio blog is to use paper piecing. I chose this fun sand bucket image to make a boy birthday card. Notice I'm trying to make a few more masculine cards? :) I paper pieced the bucket and added some Distress Stickles to look like sand. I hope you have a great day! Be sure to stop by the Sherrod Studio blog and store.

Sweet 'n Sassy is going DIGITAL!!!!

*Be sure to scroll down for my YMH posting*

Exciting news to share with you all today! Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is making the move to all digital stamps! This is exciting on many points, a couple being we will be able to provide you with even more images and they will all be such a fantastic price there's no reason why you couldn't get them all! :) We are having a super fun Lots of Love blog hop today, so be sure to take some time to hop around today for your chance to win the entire January release! The full list is on my right sidebar, and it explains all details.

For my card I used a bit older digi called A Flower For You. Isn't it a sweet image? I colored her with my Copics and decided to try this card cut from my A Child's Year cartridge, which I just love. The sentiment is from Eskimo Kisses.

Digital stamps really are fun and versatile. The more I work with them I am learning little tricks here and there that I thought I'd share with you. One is it is super easy to re-size an image. This comes in handy quite a lot and makes the image a lot more versatile. I just import the image into my Word doc and click it. A box shows up around it and you can just use the handles around it to make it bigger or smaller. Simple!

The other discovery I made (which I'm sure I'm just slow in figuring this out *lol*) is that you do not have to use an entire sheet of cardstock each time you print out an image. You can use a scrap piece and just tape the edges down to a piece of printer paper and run it through. It's a good idea to first print the image on the printer paper and then line up your scrap piece of cardstock over that so you know exactly where to put your paper, but this way you can use up your entire sheet of cardstock. You could do paper piecing like this also.

Be sure to visit fellow DT member Deedee's blog and look through her tutorials she has on digital stamps, she has helped me a ton and can tell you how you can crop and even rotate or flip images! SO, if you haven't given digi stamping a try yet you should! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Piece of Cake

I have a simple birthday card to share today using a super cute Snag'em Set, called Piece of Cake available at Your Memories Here for $1.50! I used the circle sentiment stamp to add to my pattern paper, which is Rosy Nook Wall paper, so that the sentiment was built into the overall pattern. I stamped and colored my cake image and added some yummy Stickles frosting to the top. I also used the Swiss Dots embossing folder and a Prima flower. Be sure to stop by the Your Memories Here BLOG to see fun projects each day!
