A Friend....SDD#134

Loved this sketch from Skipping Stones this week! I pulled out Heartsong and stamped the matted panel with the music background and stamped and trimmed out the butterfly twice. I also used my PTI Banner Builder dies and stamps and a Mat Stack die and and coordinating stamp. I really like using embrodiery thread instead of ribbon and it's so much cheaper than twine. Thanks for stopping by!

Life is Beautiful...CHF challenge

I was so happy to see that Cornish Heritage Farms stamps are coming back! I have a boatload of them and couldn't bear to part with them when the original owners sold the store and I'm so glad I didn't let them go! They are hosting challenges now on their blog and I wanted to play along. This challenge was to use pearls and lace. I pulled out the two gorgeous sets, Ornamental Beauty and Antique. I was pleased to discover that the PTI Button Card fits the framed journaling spot from Ornamental Beauty perfectly! I colored the Life is beautiful with Copics and trimmed it out. The butterfly was also trimmed out. It was really great playing with these stamps again!

Pretty Bloom-MIM

This week's MIM is to make your own embellishment and you can do it to varying degrees of intricacy. For mine I did a fairly simple flower, but I love how it came out. I finally got the Beautiful Blooms II die #1 collection that I have had wishlisted since they were released and I am so happy to have them! So, here is another baby card, using the new Bitty Baby dies (which I love!) and some sentiment words from a couple of other PTI baby sets as well. Can you tell I'm in baby card mode again? Just be thankful I don't show them all to you! *lol* Not sure if you can tell, but I flocked the bunny, so sweet IRL. Hope you are having a great Wednesday!

Love You Forever

Happy Tuesday to you!  I have a LO to share. This picture of my three littles was taken on Mother's Day of this year and I was so excited to make a special page with it. I used the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge for the big label, the hearts, the little banner, the tab and the title. For the hearts I used one of the coordinating stamp sets you get when you purchase the Art Philosophy bundle. I love stamping on coordinating die cuts! The button is also from CTMH in Blush. Be sure to check out the page where you can shop with the wonderful CTMH consultants...click here. Thanks for coming by and I hope you are inspired.

Happy Hexagons

I must say, these sweetly patterned hexagons do make me happy! Such fun to stamp with and all the color combos you can come up with and it just gives such a quilty feeling that I had to make a couple of baby cards right away. I also used the new Bitty Baby Blessings die. Amazing how much more fun a stamp set is with a coordinating die! I got a few other goodies that I'm looking forward to playing with in my last PTI order, but this will be the last box of fun for me for quite sometime. The budget can stretch only so far and instead of more stamps, dies and the like I'm going to be putting my fun money toward a newly updated kitchen. I am excited about it! I cook almost everything from scratch and spend a lot of time in my kitchen and to have new counters and cabinets will be wonderful. So, I have resolved to start shopping my own stash ;)  Anyway...hope you like my cards! Happiness to you!

Tea for Two- Pages with Papertrey

After trying the Project Life style of scrapbooking I've come to the realization that it's just not for me all the time. It's great when I have a ton of pictures that I want to capture in one spot, but I miss traditional scrapping way to much to give it up...plus I have so many supplies to use up! I joined in Leigh's great sketch this month and these photos were perfect for it. I even got to pull out my Tea for Two and Additions sets that I love but have been very neglected. My daughter had gotten a real porcelain tea set and had been begging me to have a "real" tea party with her and one afternoon we had some time and did. I made real tea, had little goodies and we set the table and had a lovely time. Oh, and of course we couldn't attend our little party without tiaras! Others dies used are Tag Sale #3, Buttoned Up dies and Button Boutique stamp set and the Heart Border. Thanks for visiting!

MIM- Just a Note

This week's MIM was masked bordered sentiments, a very fun technique. I pulled out a very long forgotten set, Floral Frenzy and am really liking the results using it. I stamped the flowers onto kraft in white and added some colorful centers. For my scalloped borders I used Graditude Journal and the sentiment is from the Floral Frenzy set. Thanks for coming to visit!

Refuge~ SSD #133

I played along over at Skipping Stones this week and really liked the sketch. I pulled out my Dandelion Dreams set and an encouraging scripture for this card. I used the rock and roll technique for the humming bird and did some selective inking for the flowers. The border is PTI's Fillagree border and I added some faux stitching as my Janome Sew Mini died. I hope to get a new machine in the near future but for now my paper piercer and white pen will be my stitching ;) Thanks for coming by!

For my dad

We celebrated my dad today since we are spending time with my hubby's dad tomorrow. I pulled out my new Wplus9 Guiding Light dies *love!* and made up this little scene. I love scene cards, they are so much fun! I love the dies too, really gives the set new life. I wanted a verse that spoke to me about what my dad has done in my life and this one fit the bill;) We had a yummy dinner and an even yummier dessert. A good day. Hope you have a wonderful day...be sure to express your love to those closest to you. We all need to be reminded of how much we are loved.

Now Moments

These pictures are actually a couple years old now and I had already had them in my album in a LO but I hated the LO! I think it's the first time I've ever done a complete re-do and I really like how this one turned out :) I will spare you the old one. I used lots of Wplus9 goodies on here, Spring Tags and Folk Art Flowers and some Cricut as well, Opposites Attract and Art Philosophy. I also die cut and stamped some PTI buttons. Hope you are having a great start to the weekend!

B is for boy...Flourishes challenge

Another challenge over at Flourishes was to use a letter as a focal point. This idea for a baby card came right to me, so I pulled out the Hello Baby set and stamped the "It's a boy!" for a background and then stamped and trimmed out the onsie for my focal point. Thanks for dropping by!

Just a Note~Flourishes challenge

It's release week at Flourishes so they have some extra challenges up and I'm playing along :) This one was to pop up something on your card. I used foam adhesive on all my mat layers and watercolored one of the images from Botanical Bookplates II.  Kind of a different color combo for me, but I like how it turned out, hope you do too!

Richly Blessed

This card was born out of scraps all over my table :) I had made these little felt roses awhile back using a heart border die and finally used them. I stamped the background using Flourishes Lace backgrounder (which coordinates perfectly with PTI's Lace Bouquet) and added some pearls and the sentiment which was picked for a dear friend. I hope you are having a great week so far! Thanks for coming by.

SSD#131~ Thank You

A great sketch up at Skipping Stones Design and I wanted to use my new set, Victorian Summer. I stamped the large medallion in Veramark and heat embossed it in white and then trimmed it out to make a flower. I stamped the butterfly from the set onto my mat layer and added some rhinestones to finish it off. I used some Basic Grey paper for my background....really trying to use my pattern paper but it's slow going. I had cut this piece for another card and just didn't like it and ended up stamping my own background. I think I'll have pattern paper forever! :)  Hope you are having a great weekend. We attended a local Native American Pow wow today and it was a lot of fun. The costumes are gorgeous and the kids had so much fun joining in the dancing and I found a gorgeous necklace made of turquoise, beads and a pendant made of a carved piece of abalone shell to look like a rose. I love it! Thanks for coming by.

Stiched Gift Ensemble

I wanted to make a friend of mine something to say how special and thankful I am for her, so I got out one of my favorite sets, Stitches and Swirls and got to work. I bought this set with projects like this in mind and the fact that it also makes gorgeous stamped work is just a plus :)  I die cut the rectangles out of some very light weight cotton fabric and stamped my sentiment from the Flourishes Hydrangea set in Palette ink and heat set it. Then in a very light colored ink I stamped my images from the PTI Stitches and Swirls set. Then I embrodiered it. I used all the strands so that it looked really full. I then stitched on the ribbon attached to some tiny buttons and made a card to match. I must say I love how it came out and see many more little projects in the future;) I am even thinking little hanging pillows like this for baby would be so sweet and the local shop I work with is willing to try to sell anything I make so I think I'll give it a go. What do you think? I'd love to hear your comments. Thanks for visiting me!

TT#172~ Eternal Summer

This week's challenge over at the Flourishes blog was to create a white card with pearls. I really enjoyed putting this one together and finally inked up one of their newest sets, Hydrangea. I love these flowers though they don't grow here in Arizona...at least I can stamp and color them! I used very light pinks with a bit darker accents for my blooms and layered up lots and lots of white and finished it off with some Viva pen pearls. I wanted to keep the card mailable with no extra postage. Don't you love that sentiment? It is true! Thanks for coming by!

MIM~Strawberry Birthday

I love sketches so this week's MIM was perfect. I chose the above sketch and got to stamping:) For my vertical stripes I pulled out my new Distressed Stripes set. This is an old set that I never paid much attention to in the past, but I saw some great projects with it and fell in love. I love making my own pattern paper and adding stripes is just perfect. I added a score line for my dividing line and pierced holes to stitch with embrodiery thread. I then pulled out Strawberry Patch (which I love more and more) and die cut, stamped and glittered. The top section with the sentiment seemed to plain to me leaving it just white, so I paired my strawberries with Lace Bouquet. I hope you like it:) Thanks for stopping by!

Baby Love

A couple more baby cards :) For my top card I used the Bundle of Love set and Love Lives Here (for the grass and flowers) and made a little scene. On my next card I used Button Boutiuqe and dies, Strawberry Patch and Stitches and Swirls. I love combining so many sets onto one card. I hope you are having a good week. I've been doing a bit more gardening and over did it yesterday and had a really bad flare up with my back :( I am going to take it very easy today. Thanks for coming by!

Just Hatched

A little baby card using Little Bitty Bird and additions and Out on a Limb. I also cut a Tiny Tag and stamped some gingham and stitching. I love the Bitty Bird additions being able to stamp the bird in a solid color and the adorable polka dot wing. Hope you have a great weekend!
