Just a Note...with Strawberries!

I just got Strawberry Patch from PTI and love it! It is such a fun set. You have the option to color all the strawberries or two step stamp them as I did here. So.much.fun! I varied the color of the strawberries some and though it's very easy to line up I wasn't too careful about getting full coverage as it naturally adds in some lighter tones. I stamped them onto a fine linen base...love this color with reds. The sentiment is from Botanical Silhouettes. I am looking forward to playing a lot more with this set!

MIM-Pocket Card

This week's MIM was do make a pocket card. These are always fun and add a nice twist to all the baby cards I make. I decided to make a pocket that would fit a tag and used Baby Button Bits for my main image, the sweet little bee. I also used some new washi tape I found at Walmart for only 97cents a roll. I wasn't sure if I'd like it, but I do! I am so loving my glitter being in bigger containers and glittered the bees wings since it made no mess:) I stamped the flower image from the same set onto my background panel and used embroidery thread to tie all my buttons with. Thanks for visiting me!

Joy Today

Here's a little card put together using some odds and ends on my desk. The flourish was cut using my Cricut and the Art Pilosophy cartridge and the flower was made from various cricut cuts as well. The Sentiment is from PTI's Beautiful Blessings. I've got a coconut cream pie in oven right now :) We are celebrating my dad's birthday...looking forward to it! Hope your day is joy filled.

Papertrey May Blog Hop Challenge

I am happy to be playing along this month with the PTI blog hop! This month there was a beautiful inspiration photo using vibrant green, white and black. Of course, I just couldn't help myself and snuck in some pink ;) For my card I pulled out 3 differents sets, In Bloom, Gingham and Beautiful Blessings. I embossed the sentiment with white detail powder and the largest flower is layered with foam tape. I enjoyed the different color scheme, not something I'd usually go for but very pretty all together. Hope you like it, I'd love to hear if you do and thanks so much for stopping by :)

Banner Baby and MIM

Here's a little baby card I made using my new Beautiful Butterfly dies and the Banner Builder dies. I got some glass custard dishes to put my loose glitter and embossing powder in so I don't have to try and get it back into the little bottles and it was so much more mess free that I'll be glittering and embossing lots more :) This card also fits the MIM challenge of mixing pattern papers. Hope you have a great day!

Cameo and Flourish Birthdays

I have a couple of cards to share with you using the fabulous Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge for Cricut is Close to My Heart. My cards use coordinating stamp sets as well which I just love. The first one is called Sweet Moments. I used it to cut the oval and then stamped the frame and cameo. The lace border is also from the Sweet Moments set. For my flowers I cut one of the flower shapes and used the Hooray Bouquet set to stamp the flowers using the text flower. I cut some leaves and embossed them and to get my flowers to have more dimension I used a stylus to form the petals.
My next card uses a fun technique I don't often remember to do. I cut a pretty flourish off the cartridge and used it as a mask and sponged on some Peeled Paint Distress ink to get the green flourish from the die cut. I then added my embellished circle, stamped some text background and my big sentiment. The rolled flowers on my card were made using the super sweet set, Spring Up. I hope you enjoyed my projects, I'd love to hear if you did! Be sure to check out the fabulous ladies that are CTMH consultants here. Blessings....

Happy Birthday

The sketch for this card was for last week's Skipping Stones, but I couldn't get it loaded up to the blog in time :(  Anyway, was a fun one and I used up some pattern paper as well as lots of stamping. I used Heart Song and Dandelion Kisses for this one. I love that butterfly, so pretty. I punched some flowers to create the flower center for it and I found that a bigger head on my stylus tool was the key to being able to get nicely shaped petals. The one I had was too small and I found one at Michaels on clearance for less than $2, so I grabbed it :)  Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

SSD#127- Happy Mother's Day

Another fabulous sketch over at the Skipping Stones blog. I used Heart Song 2 for my roses and cut some coaster board buttons to keep this card very flat and easy to mail as it is going to be sent off to my MIL. The papers are from a Basic Grey pack...I am really trying to use up my pattern paper, but I think it will literally take me years ;)  Thanks for dropping by!

Pretty in Purple Flourishes Challenge

I joined in over at Flourishes for this month's release, to use purple. My mom loves purple and with Mother's Day just a few days away this was perfect...plus I got to ink up this new to me set, Orchids. So pretty! I grew up in Hawaii so these flowers are near to my heart. Growing up my poor mom tried and tried to grow an orchid in house and it would always die. She finally gave up and we just had them outside:) I used Copics on the flowers and did the out of the box technique again, love how it adds that little bit extra something. Hope you are having a good week!

Sweet baby....

I have a couple of baby cards to share with you using the latest Flourishes release. I really love this set, so sweet. The top card was colored using Copics and the bootie card I paper pieced. Yesterday our family went to a Cinco de Mayo celebration in which some some friends of ours kids were performing Ballet Folklorico. The kids enjoyed seeing the colorful costumes and dancing and it was in a very beautiful spot so it made a really nice day out. I hope you are having a good weekend!

Quiet Life~TT#167

Fun challenge over at Flourishes this week, use butterflies. Not hard at all for me as I love them ;) I inked up my new Lenton Rose set...*sigh* how I love it and each of the sentiments are wonderful too. I wanted to do the out of the box technique and love how it came out...will be doing this a lot more! I colored the image with Copics and though you can't tell I added some Clear Star gelly roll glitter to the water and the rose centers. Gives it just enough sparkle. I also wanted to pass along a new online shop I found called Chic and Savvy Crafters. They sell many of the Flourishes stamp sets and lots of dies as well as some other products and the best part is they ship stamp sets and dies FREE! I am thrilled to have found them and boy do they ship quick and I even got a little surprise gift. Hope you are having a great week!
