Circle of Teeny Tiny Details

Hello! Well I just finished this page out of my Johanna Basford Secret Garden book. I decided to use my Tombow Markers for it and they worked pretty well though I am more happy with how pencils do on this kind of paper. I am waiting to color anymore pages until my new Faber Castell Polychromos pencils arrive. I am getting very impatient! Anyway, here's the page.

I find these coloring books so relaxing. :)

Keep a Green Tree...

Hello stamping friends. Well today is a bittersweet post as it is my last time posting for Great Impressions. I have so enjoyed my time on this fabulous DT and I hope I've brought some inspiration to you! For my last card I chose one of my favorite sentiment stamps from the store.

I love this image and knew it would pair perfectly with this sentiment. The image is called F517 Bird in Roses and the sentiment is called D465 Live There. I watercolored the image and added some borders and seqins. Thanks so much for my time on the GI DT!

Be sure to join us in this month's challenge (click!) and if you use any GI stamps be sure to link up to the customer gallery (click!). Be sure to stop by the Great Impressions store (click!) and maybe treat yourself to a few new images...did you know shipping is free over $25?!

Have a wonderful day!

Believe

Hello! Today I have a fun bright card to share with you. I'm trying to use more of my ink colors that I don't typically reach for. I pulled out a couple of Inspired by Stamping sets for my card today.

I started by stamping my sentiment and heat embossing it in white. Then I stamped my butterflies in Memento Luxe inks (Teal Zeal, Morocco and Lilac Posies) and covered them with clear detail embossing powder. Then I watercolored them and the back panel with Tombow markers.

The butterflies are from the Butterflies set and the sentiment is from the new Watercolor Sentiments. Thanks for stopping by!

Spring Boots

Do you like to garden? When the weather finally warms up where I live I do love to be out among my flowers. I think this image is super sweet so I let it be the star of the show.

This image is called G522 Spring Boots and I knew I wanted to watercolor it. A bit of layering and dry embossing and I have a pretty card to send to someone special.

Thank You

Hello! I am excited to bring you another creation using the newest Inspired By Stamping release. I decided to use the beautiful Sun Ripened Pear and  Polka Dots sets today.
Pear
This pear image is so beautiful and is really fun to color. I heat embossed the image and sentiment in white on watercolor paper and then colored it using Tombow markers and a paint brush. For my background paper I wanted to pull out some of the same colors as I used with my pear and the Polka Dots set is perfect for fun background building.
Pear2
I love how embossing in white really gives a fun pop to your colored image and that it gave a much cleaner look to overlapping the sentiment on the pear a bit. I hope you enjoyed my card today! Have a beautiful day.

Seaside

Hello! What another lovely set we have to introduce you to today from Inspired By Stamping. This one is called Seaside and is perfect for a large range of cards and is great for masculine designs as well!

I love lighthouses and sunsets so that is what I chose to create for my first card using this set. I stamped in some additional cattails and sea gulls that are also in the set.

I watercolored the background and used Copics to darken up the lighthouse at the very end. I left a sentiment off as I think the image can speak for itself. Thanks for stopping by!

Other:
Tombow Markers
#4 round paint brush
Canson watercolor paper 140lb

Enjoy

I hope you are having a good week so far! Today I have a pretty new image to share with you called J116 Hydrangeas.

This image is perfect for looser watercoloring which is what I did. I used Tombow markers and a #4 round brush to color my image. For my sentiment I stamped and trimmed out the G483 Tags, "enjoy the day".

Sun Ripened Pear

What a beautiful stamp set we have to share with you today for the Inspired By Stamping release! This one is called Sun Ripened Pear and it is lovely. I of course had to watercolor it, there was no resisting it!

Pear
I really love this sentiment too! Such a meaningful one for keeping in touch with loved ones far away. This is a fabulous set in that it lends itself perfectly to feminine or masculine recipients.
Pear2
I die cut watercolor paper using Fancy Labels 2 and stamped in a light dye ink so I could do a no line look. I used Tombow markers to color and a #4 round brush.

Summer...

Summer is my favorite time of year where I live. I live up in the high desert and our warm season isn't very long so I really love summer! This week we are showing you ideas for summer cards. One thing summer brings is time to be out in the garden and it's such a joy when I hear the familiar hum of a beautiful hummingbird buzz by. So for my card today I pulled out the gorgeous Hummingbirds set.
Hummingbird
I stamped the fushia flowers first and then positioned my hummingbird to come take a sip of nectar. I watercolored the image using Tombow markers. I always use watercolor paper and a #4 round brush to paint with. My favorite way to get blended colors is to go wet on wet. You first wet the area you are working on with clean water and then drop in color which is also wet, hence the wet on wet term. It's always so magical to see how the colors blend and soften. For my sentiment I used the Happy Birthday from the Flower of the Month: Water Lily set.
Hummingbird2
I layered some cardstock underneath the image and then added some machine sewing. I hope you are feeling ready for summer if that is the next season for your neck of the woods. Have a great day!

Buzzin' By....

For my card today I inked up the pretty Honey Bee set by Inspired By Stamping. I watercolored the image using Tombow markers and a #4 round brush. I like to used Versafine Onyx Black in or Vintage Sepia for watercoloring as the ink doesn't bleed at all when wet. For this image I stamped it in the Vintage Sepia which is still light enough to have a no line effect. I hope you have a great day!

Bring You Through

Hi there! Today I have a card to share with you that uses the new Inspired By Stamping set Tulip Bouquet.

For my sentiment I used the Words of Inspiration set. For my tulip bouquet I watercolored it using my Tombow markers and a Winsor and Newton #4 round brush. It's always fun to leave flowers white by adding some gray shadows. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day!
