My Crafty Space

I thought it might be fun to show you were I spend my time creating. It's technically the guest bedroom, and we have used it quite a bit for guests, but the majority of time it is my room:) I am so thankful I get to have my own space and that I can have it set up in a way that works for me. Let me give you a little tour....

Here is the view when you are in the door way. The window is south facing which is really nice, especially in the winter. My desk is quite small, but it was given to us and I think is so pretty and I love the deep drawers. I found the chair at an antique store and it fits the desk so well. As a note, I didn't clean up to take these pictures. I am a super neat crafter as I just can't create if everything is not in it's place:)

If you come into the room and turn to your right there is a closet, which I've thoroughly taken over. The binders are all filled with stamps....

This is the bottom half of the closet. I have my Cricut Expression, more stamps and scraps like chipboard, acrylic and scrap paper. This is the messiest spot in my room:)

Next to the closet I have this small book shelf that holds all my paper, scoring board, my Cricut Create (I know I'm crazy to have 2 Cricut machines!!) all my Cricut cartridges, my Cuttlebug and all my embossing folders. Above is my ribbon and ink.

Now we are on the window wall. I have a small metal shelving unit that holds all my Spellbinders dies and then more shelves that hold even more stamps, my sewing machine, ATG gun, cardstock I use for my card bases and my light.

Here is my desk. I don't have a lot of desk top space, but it works for me. See those two cubbies holding my Prismacolor pencils and Copics?? I just found this great little company on line called Studio 3 and snatched these up and absolutely adore them!!! By far the best storage solution I have ever seen for them. Here's a close up:

The shelves are angled backward slightly so you can pull out your Copics or pencils and the rest don't fall out. Go check them out HERE...I highly recommend them!

On the left side of my desk is my paper trimmer and another bookcase that holds my punches, and all my small embellishments. The spice rack was a find at an antique store and I just love it.

And this brings us to the last wall that I have invaded in this room ;) I have more flowers in the candy jars and some inspiration pieces along with some favorite photos. So, that's my creative space. I hope you enjoyed the tour!!

Bird Delivery

Hello and welcome to Thursday!! There are several super fun images being released over at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps today and I am featuring one of mine called Bird Delivery. I adore making baby cards and this one was super fun to put together. I colored up the image using my Prismacolor pencils and cut the sentiment and leaves with my Cricut using A Child's Year. The little flowers are also made by me and you can place an order for them through my email or visit my Etsy shop (though there's not much listed so a custom order is best:) The background is embossed with a QuickKuts folder. I added some Stickles for a bit of shine and a bow accent. Be sure to stop by the Sweet 'n Sassy shop and treat yourself to an image or two! Since they are digis you can afford too:) Be sure to stop by tomorrow as I plan to give you a little tour of my craft space and recommend some wonderful storage for your Copics and Prismacolor pencils. Thanks for dropping by!

Praying for You...Daffodil

I am longing for spring, especially since we got slammed by record breaking snow, and in just 3 days we have more than 3 feet of snow on the ground. So, I fear spring will not be coming early this year *sigh* But, at least I can still play with flowers indoors:) For my card I used the Sweet 'n Sassy Daffodil image and also played along with the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge this week which is to use green somewhere on your card. I decided to make my flowers more dimensional this time and popped up the two flower heads after I colored them with Copics. I hope you are staying warm wherever you are! Thank you so much for visiting me:)

Blue Moon....and a 30 day challenge

I have been wanting to scrap a lot more, and reading one of my favorite blogs, Belle Papier she decided to take a personal challenge of completing one LO a day for 30 days....so I decided to take the same challenge for myself! I started last night and am actually really excited about it. I don't know that I'll show you every LO, but I'll keep you posted on my progress:) I don't know if you knew that on Dec. 31st there was a blue moon, which means it was the second full moon in one month. We didn't even know we got to see it until the next day and then learned how rare they are. Hence the saying, Once in a blue moon. I had let our dog out and saw the moon shining through these icicles and quickly snapped this pic, which I'm so glad I did as I unwittingly documented the only blue moon I may ever see:)

The pretty rhinestone flourishes I did myself using loose rhinetones... The quote on the photo is from CHF's Ornamental Beauty and says, "Beauty is God's shadow on the world." The punches are MS and I used my Cricut for the title, Lyrical Letters, and A Child's year for the tag. It's a simple LO as most of them probably will be, but it's the getting them onto paper that's important. Thanks for dropping by and be sure to scroll down for my first post today:)

SSTT Monochromatic

Today's challenge over at the Sherrod Studio blog is to pick a monochromatic color scheme. I chose to go a bit out of my comfort zone and make a masculine card using the Rock 'n Roll set. I just did layering, some faux stitching and added some big metal colored brads along with highlighting the mike and guitar with a silver gelly roll pen. Inside it says Happy Birthday as I thought that's what I'll most likely use it for. Be sure to visit the Sherrod Studio Blog to see the rest of the DT cards and to play along with us!

I Love You

Good Monday to you! I have another Christmasy LO for you today:) I couldn't think of a better title for my LO than "I love you" because my family is the biggest love in my life. I used the new Spring Mini cart, Mother's Day for the tag title and A Child's Year for the flowers and holly accent. The pretty bling I used for holly berries are Dew Drops from the Clueless collection and I added some fun Pebbles ribbon to finish everything off. The border punch is from Friskars. Be sure to stop by Your Memories Here blog to see more projects by the DT each day and the YMH shop to stock up on supplies. Thanks for visiting me:)

Heart Soar

Hello! Hope you are having a good Friday:) My card today uses the super cute digi set called All My Heart which you can pick up for only $4 at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps! I colored my heart with a very light grey Copic marker, just to give it some depth and colored in the middle of the flowers. I used my sewing machine to stitch on the lace and hand stitched the 3 "x's". Have anything fun planned this weekend? We are snowed in...so we'll probably watch lots of movies:) Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Princess

Today is digi release day over at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps! A couple of fun releases for you, and this one is perfect for Valentines or any other occasion you need a pretty little princess! I paired her with the Birthday Buddies sentiment, Birthday Wishes and made it very pink and girly. I actually needed a card for a little girl's birthday party we are going to, and she loves princesses! She is colored with Copics and I did some faux stitching. Be sure to hop on over to the Sweet 'n Sassy STORE to pick up the new digis and visit The Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Blog to see more eye candy with these new images:)

Wishes

For my card today I used the brand new Sweet 'n Sassy Carnation and pulled out an older set for the pretty butterfly, In His Time. I thought the two paired together nicely. I kept with warmer tones but it sure does feel good to be working with some more spring like images. For the butterfly I stamped it with Palette ink and lightly colored with my Copics, but it will smear your ink color! It worked out fine since I just kind of went with it and used it to my advantage, but if you don't want smearing don't stamp with Palette ink! I colored my carnations with Copics as well and added some ink distressing using Old Paper. The big scallop border is an EK Success punch and the corners are a Cuttlebug die. I hope you find little, or big, miracles in your day!

Wishes and Dreams

Welcome to the Sherrod Studio Tuesday Throwdown and today we are doing a blog hop! Be sure to stop by the Sherrod Studio blog and leave a comment for your chance to win some stamping goodness. I used the set Gracie for my card today and did some random stamping to get the background paper and subtle background on the panel Gracie is on. I thought this sentiment would be good for a birthday card, so I had her hold the bunch of balloons. Be sure to do some hopping, thanks for dropping by!

Christmas Cutie

I just had to scrap this picture of my DD before I am totally not in the mood to do anything Christmas like:) Plus, she's pretty cute, so it wasn't hard. I used my new Mother's Day cart for the pretty flourish and my new A YearChild's cart for the photo mat, font and leaves. I must say, I wasn't sure if I'd like ACY but I DO!! If you haven't gotten it yet I really would recommend it. For my flowers I used Prima Sweet 'n Sassy Clueless and Primas from the Bitty Bag. The soft border around the outside was stamped using the pretty little Prima lace stamp set. All these fabulous supplies can be purchased for a very reasonable price at Your Memories Here. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Love Bug

I pulled out a Kim Hughes set, Hugs and Kisses for this card. I love her stamps:) When using unmounted rubber I would highly recommend getting a Stampamajig so you can "see" what you are doing. That is how I was able to position the flower like I did with the ladybug. I added a little border around my circle image panel by making little x's. A pretty simple card, but it was fun to make. Hope you are having a wonderful Saturday!

Snuggly Hugs

I am trying to be better about sending my friends that live far away a card more often. So for this card I challenged myself to make one that was still layered and had lots of details but was still flat for no extra postage. I think I did just that ;) I used the super cute new SNS Eskimo Kisses set for this card to send to a dear friend as a just because kind of card. Hopefully it will brighten one of her winter days. For my little holes around my scalloped border I remembered to use my 1/8" hole punch which worked out so well as the holes are so much more visible when you adhere the focal panel without foam adhesive. I had kind of forgotten I had that punch *blush* Hope you are staying warm today! Hugs to you!!

Heart Song

Hello! How is your week going? I've had a real busy one so far:) For my share today I used the new Melody of Love set from SNS and used my Prismacolor pencils on kraft. I really do love coloring this way:) The sentiment is just so sweet and to add the extra little music notes on my heart was a cinch since the set includes a little row of them. I added some frosted Stickles to my center heart for some subtle shimmer and stitched on my buttons. The border punch is from Friskars, one of my favs. Thanks so much for stopping by!

With Love gift set

I decided to make something a bit different and get a head start on some of my Valentine gifts. This little set will go to my mom as she loves purple and iris' :) I first stamped my January Iris twice, newly released from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, and colored both images. I added the With Love sentiment from the Melody of Love set to go with my Valentine theme. Then I made a cute little pillow box that I'll stuff some little goodies into and made a matching 3x3 card. I kept the overall design CAS as that is my mom's favorite kind of look. I do like how it came out, what do you think?

SSTT11- Stitching

I love to stitch on my cards and that is what this week's challenge at Sherrod Studio is! I hope you can see all the stitching I did as I tried to emulate a kind of quilted feel. I used the pretty set, Friendship Blossoms and for the big rose heat embossed it in pink after I had stamped it on a darker pink so that the darker color showed through. For the flourishes I inked up only part of the photo corner that come in this set for a little extra touch. Pop on over to the Sherrod Studio blog to see the rest of the DT's creations and to play along:)

I Love You Doily Card

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I am excited to share with you a card I made use one of the newly released special edition Cricut cartridges, Mother's Day. This cart has a ton of really pretty and super intricate cuts on it, some of those being 3 different doilies. I chose the flower shaped one along with the pinwheel and center flower and the I love you tag also on this cartridge. Kristina over at Your Memories Here is carrying all 3 of the new cartridges which should be back in stock on Wednesday. I also used one of my favorite Cuttlebug embossing folders, Damask for my card base and flower. For the finishing touch I added 3 pearl colored Dew Drops from the Silver Bells collection.

Be sure to hop on over to the Your Memories Here blog to be in the loop about all the current contests and ways you can win free product. Sing Unto The Lord

I am so ready for spring even though we are smack dab in the middle of winter still. Isn't stamping great though, because you can always have flowers to play with:) This card uses 2 new releases from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, March Daffodil and Melody of Love. I love that verse, we should always be thankful! I colored the daffodil with Copics and did a bit of faux stitching and some actual stitching to attach the ribbon. Thank you for your sweet comments and for making my day a bit brighter:)

Sherrod Studio Tuesday Throwdown

Hello and a happy Tuesday to you! Today's challenge over on the Sherrod Studio blog is to make a gatefold card. Honestly I'd never done one of these before and really enjoyed it. The nice thing about them I thought anyway, was they kind of force you to do something to the inside which I usually just leave blank. For my card I used the super sweet set, Down Home Blessings. I colored my image with a mix of Copics and Prismacolor pencils. I hope you can play along with us. Thanks for stopping by:)

Pretty Flowers Gift Set

This Thursday, the 7th, is the new Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps release day and today I am sharing a peek at some of the new stamps that will be available. I decided to create a gift set using all three flower stamps, January Carnation, February Iris and March Daffodil and their accompanying month sentiment. I thought these would be nice as an all purpose note card. I kept the layout simple so the focus was on the flowers and made a matching card box to tuck them all into. They are colored with Copics and I added some lace and a bit of piercing but wanted to keep them flat so they don't cost extra for the recipient to mail. I hope you have enjoyed today's peek! Thank you so much for stopping by.

Sneaky Peeky:)

Hello! Another Sweet 'n Sassy stamp sneak peek to share with you today featuring a super cute set called Eskimo Kisses. Aren't they sweet? My son just started getting the hang of how to Eskimo kiss, so cute! I went with very soft Copic colors for my couple and added some Stickles to the flourishes for a bit of sparkle. Our release date is Jan. 7th so be getting your shopping list ready:) Thanks so much for dropping by and be sure to visit me Monday as I'll have another peek at the birth flower collection.

Sweet 'n Sassy Sneek Peek!!

I am so excited to be sharing this peek with you! Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is releasing several new sets this month on the 7th and one of those are 3 different flowers representing each month's birth flower. The really exciting part (to me anyway:) is that I had the privilege of illustrating all the flowers! Sweet 'n Sassy will be releasing 3 flowers for each season, so this release will have January's flower, which is the carnation, February and March. I hope you will love these flowers and add them to your collection!

I colored mine with Copics, and was inspired for the color of them from the piece of vintage lace I used. Carnations come in so many different colors that this is a very versatile flower to color. I added some pearls and piercing and stamped the accompanying month sentiment to make a pretty all purpose note card.

Thank you so much for dropping by today and please let me know what you think! Hugs...
