A Spectacle of Glory -Book Review

A Spectacle of Glory is a year long devotional by Joni Eareckson Tada. It's a small book which is nice because it's easy to carry with you and keep close. It has a ribbon book mark which I always appreciate. The devotions are one page each with a scripture reference at the top and a little story or explanation of the scripture and then closes with a prayer for the day. I like the briefness and the thoughts are encouraging and I like having a scripture reference to start with as you can always read more. This book would make a lovely gift, but I think I'll be keeping my copy. I give this book a full 5 stars.

Sentiment Only

Hi!  I thought it would be fun to show you how you can use just a sentiment stamp set for a beautiful card. I'll be using the new Blessed set from Inspired By Stamping.
To create a pretty card using just sentiments and no focal image I decided to heat emboss a couple of the combinations of sentiments and then use Distress Ink as the color pop.
Here is what it looked like part way through my stamping. Since I chose to use a cream colored cardstock I had to sprinkle the embossing powder as I went so I could see what I was doing. At this point I needed to heat set it so I could fill in the rest of the background.
Once all my embossing was done I used two colors of Distress ink to really pop that white embossing.
I embellished it with some of the Valentine's Day ribbon and a white paper rose. Some machine stitching finished it off.

I hope you enjoyed today's card!
Have a beautiful day!

The Way of the Dragon or the Way of the Lamb- Book Review

I have another book review to share today. This book is called The Way of the Dragon or the Way of the Lamb. It's written by two authors who share personal experiences in the struggle for power. I think overall this book takes an honest look at the struggle each of us faces in living this life, either by our own strength and slapping the word God on it, or being truly submitted to God and letting our pride die. A struggle for sure, especially in the church where so many are run as a business endeavor and not as extensions of Christ. I give this book a solid 4 stars.
