Blues

Hello! I really love the sentiments in the new Inspired By Stamping set Seaside Sentiments and wanted to feature another one using watercolors. Here is my card:

I used watercolor paper and first heat embossed my sentiment in white. Then I sponged several different colors of Distress ink onto my watercolor paper. I used Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire and a bit of Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade.

The fun happened when I took a wet paint brush and played with the Distress ink. I purposely left a dark horizon line and pulled out some color in the sky area to give the impression of clouds. For my sun I used my mini round foam tool and just dabbed it straight onto my damp paper and bled it out a bit into the water. I really love how it came out. I love the fluidity of watercolors and the balance of control and freedom in working with them. I hope you like it too! Thanks for dropping by.

Other:
Distress ink
Canson watercolor paper 140#
Zing! white embossing powder
