Watercolored Butterfly Note Cards

Hello! I hope you are having a good day :) I have a set of 3 note cards for you today using some new images from the Inspired By Stamping release going on right now. I love butterflies so the new Australian Nature I set jumped out at me right away! I wanted to watercolor them, surprised? I didn't think so;)

I stamped my butterflies onto watercolor paper in Antique Linen Distress ink so that the stamped outline wouldn't show once I was done watercoloring. I used my Tombow markers to do my watercoloring using the ink to craft mat, pick it up with a damp paint brush method. My sentiments and frames come from another brand new set called Teeny Tiny Greetings. I love this set! All the sentiments fit into this frame as well as another one in the set and all the previously released ones!
For this butterfly I just chose colors that I am naturally drawn too and went with it.
I thought this sweet sentiment would be perfect for a golden butterfly.
This color combo is more true to what the real butterfly looks like. I added a gray matting and machine stitched around each one. I plan to package these up for a Christmas present for someone this year! I hope you like them. Thanks so much for stopping by, I really do appreciate it!

Such a beautiful butterfly stamp. I love how different it looks depending on the colours and in fact another stamp I must have for my small but growing selection of IBS stamps Karen x

Beautiful. I'd never think of stamping with distress ink when I'm going to watercolor something. Thanks for sharing that bit of info.
