Banner Fun

The card uses PTI Banner Builder and Wplus9 set for the little birds and sentiment.

I held off buying the banner stamps when PTI came out them not sure I'd use them much. But after months of seeing projects and still really liking them I bought a set with the dies off the PTI buy/sell board...and I'm so happy I did! I love the cute little banners and all the different patterns you can stamp them in. I also love that the rounded banner stamp, the one I used on my LO, covers the Buttoned Up dies perfectly! So I can make cute little patterned buttons to my hearts content. I also used the heart frame Tag it's which I think is my new fav. The butterflies and title were cut with my Cricut and I also used a couple of Tiny Tags, a Love Lives Here house and a bird from Little Bitty Bird. Thanks for dropping by!

Love this banner card. I've been pinning them, meaning to take out my set and play. So cute with the birds and the partial embossing. Also, sweet banner on your LO, too.

Hi!! Thank you so much for all your sweet comments!!

I have a sketchbook that I keep next to me while I am watching TV at night. I craft at my MIL's house, so I use the time that I am at home to do all my designing, and then take my drawings with me. So for instance, my OSW posts - I have those drafted up into March or so. I take my book, my laptop open to the manufacturer's site with the set open so I can see it all, and I draw away. When I am bored, I am drawing sketches... when I am waiting at the dr's office, I am drawing sketches.

I figured this out when I was working on a publication call before Christmas - I sat with my sketchbook and drew out at least 3 cards for every category (there were 20 for that call), and then when I got to Shirley's, all the thinking was done for me. Sometimes I've even jotted down colour ideas beside them. I ended up making nearly 40 cards in 3 days. Only 3 got picked up, which means I now have over 30 more for future calls! I won't post them on my blog, they're in a separate box for now.

I hear you about the computer though - some days I just can't seem to leave it for very long at all!!

Great card. Your layout is spectacular. Love all the embellishments on it. Thanks for the tip about using the pocket banner stamp for stamping on the button die. Very clever.
