Not God Enough

I was interested to see what the author's emphasis would be and overall was pleasantly surprised. For the majority of the book I agreed and appreciated his points of showing connection and continuity of the God of the Old Testament and the God of the New Testament. I do think most tend to separate out the two when the bible clearly says He is one and the same. My problem with what the author presented for me came up in the last few chapters of the book. The over emphasis on evangelism in the way that much of the modern church deems as "the way to do it otherwise people won't have a chance of being saved" (quotes are mine) is irritating as well as a complete hypocrisy to the main theme of the book that God IS bigger than we can comprehend. We should live a life that reaches out to people to show them the gospel, but it is not up to us to save the world. Christ already did that and He is to be trusted that each person will stand before Him without excuse whether a missionary spoke to them or not. I would recommend the book but with caution for the last few chapters. I give it 4 stars.
