Sherrod Studio BLOG HOP!

Welcome to Sherrod Studio's blog hop! Kim, the owner of Sherrod Studio stamps and the Tuesday Throwdown challenge blog, is hoping to raise some funds after a really awful ordeal her family went through just a couple of weeks ago. Sadly, they came home one morning after a walk to find their home had been broken into and many of the very valuable items stolen. So, in an effort to help her family recover some from this terrible thing, please join us on this blog hop and consider purchasing a stamp set or digi set.

My card uses the super cute By The Seashore set. I colored the image with Copics and for the sand layered 3 different colors of Distress Stickles. I love how it came out! The Distress Stickles are chunckier than the regular Stickles, so it really mimicks sand and since they aren't as glittery it makes it a bit more realistic too! I stamped the entire yellow background with the seashell border in the set, and then used the trio of shells for an extra embellishment on a 1" punched circle with a bit of twine. Be sure to leave a comment here and at all the other blogs to be entered to win some free stamps! Thanks for dropping by:)

This is so cute! I love the stickles added to the sand - it really pops! Awesome job making the patterned paper! I never think to do that!

Leah, that sand absolutely looks gritty. Three colors of Stickles did that? Wow, who would have "thunk it". Wonderful idea, and making your own paper design too and those children are so cute. Great card!
Thanks, Martha

What a marvelous summer scene! I love how you did the sand, Leah! I am so terribly sorry to hear of this terrible thing that happened to Kim's family, but thank you for making us aware of their need. I will be praying for them. Hugs, Deedee

This is one of my favorite stamp sets! I live on an island and it seems I have a "beachy" theme in a lot of things I do :0)
