TT#6- Black and White with a Splash of Color

Welcome to another Tuesday Throwdown Challenge:) This week's challenge was to use black and white with a splash of color, but I maybe gave mine more of a dab of color since I chose such a light pink....oh well it's close right *lol* I used this year's PTI anniversary set and a cricut cut for my frame and the little flowers I made from a border punch strip. Be sure to head on over to the TT blog and play along, we have great sponsors every week so you never know if you'll win something fun! Thanks for dropping by:)

Beautiful Butterfly Resist

I played with a new Prima Stamp set from Your Memories Here called "Wings" and decided to do an emboss resist to create my pattern. I started by stamping the frame in Versamark and sprinkling it with gold embossing powder and heating it. Once that cooled I embossed the two different butterflies with Versamark and sprinkled white detail embossing powder and heat set that. Then I used a sponge and Tattered Rose and Broken China Distress ink to bring out the resist. I added my ribbon embellie which has a Prima flower and leaf and stamped my sentiment. This is such a fun technique that you should try if you haven't and if you have, should play around with again:) Thanks for stopping by!

Sherrod Studio BLOG HOP!

Welcome to Sherrod Studio's blog hop! Kim, the owner of Sherrod Studio stamps and the Tuesday Throwdown challenge blog, is hoping to raise some funds after a really awful ordeal her family went through just a couple of weeks ago. Sadly, they came home one morning after a walk to find their home had been broken into and many of the very valuable items stolen. So, in an effort to help her family recover some from this terrible thing, please join us on this blog hop and consider purchasing a stamp set or digi set.

My card uses the super cute By The Seashore set. I colored the image with Copics and for the sand layered 3 different colors of Distress Stickles. I love how it came out! The Distress Stickles are chunckier than the regular Stickles, so it really mimicks sand and since they aren't as glittery it makes it a bit more realistic too! I stamped the entire yellow background with the seashell border in the set, and then used the trio of shells for an extra embellishment on a 1" punched circle with a bit of twine. Be sure to leave a comment here and at all the other blogs to be entered to win some free stamps! Thanks for dropping by:)

Lily of the Valley Sympathy

I love pink. Dark pink, light pink, bright pink....it makes me happy:) I used a new clear stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps, Lily of the Valley, which is the month of May's flower. I stamped it on kraft, which I can't seem to stop doing lately, and colored it with Prismacolor pencils. I love how much white pops doing this. (sorry for the wet glue showing, I was to impatient to wait for it to dry for the picture) For my design I played along over at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I hope you'll stop by the SNS store if you haven't in awhile and see what's new! Have a lovely Wednesday, and thank you so much for dropping by!

TT#5- Embossing

Welcome to another Tuesday Throwdown challenge:) This week the challenge is to use embossing on your card/project. Well, that wasn't too much of a challenge for me *wink* and I went with dry embossing and doubled it as my sentiment. This week we have another great sponsor, Glitter Babes Art Shop. The image I got to use is called Draco Dragon and I decided to print him off on kraft cardstock and color him with Prismacolor pencils. I think this will make a cute little boy's birthday card. I hope you'll come on over and join us!

Easter LO

These were the pictures from this past Easter. It was the first year we colored eggs and hunted for them with my mom at her house and started a new tradition, which I'm so happy about. Of course the kids had so much fun and are looking forward to next year. I used some of my favorite Primas and Dew Drops and the Easter Cricut cartridge from Your Memories Here. For my title I just cut off the "happy" and only used the word "Easter" as it was already welded for me. I hope you are having a good Monday:)

Men's wear challenge

When I saw this challenge on Betsy Veldman's blog I just had to play along. She challenged us to be inspired by some piece of men's clothing, and my very favorite husband's shirt came to mind and this card was born. I kept it simple, nothing fussy because I wanted it to also really reflect my dear hubby:) I heat embossed the large flourish, used a white gel pen to make the sentiment pop and added a few metal brads. I love how it came out! So cool to translate a shirt I always love to see on him into a card, thanks for the challenge Betsy!

Pretty Birds

I just love this new digi from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called Birds and Roses, so pretty and so enjoyable to color. I colored it with Copics and decided to leave a sentiment off since the image is so pretty on it's own. If you haven't checked out the shop lately you should, lots of new goodies all time:) Have a wonderful weekend!

Renewed Strength

I know I'm not alone in finding masculine cards hard to do, so when I find images that make it much easier that helps a lot! This new image from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps is coming out as a clear set soon, and the eagle is available already as a digi. I love the feel of this bird and the encouraging scripture. I made a very simple card, just one layer with a few metal brads and some ink distressing. If you haven't heard the news yet, SNS is going to be releasing a few clear stamp sets each week! So be sure to hop on over the store and sign up for the newletter so you can be in the know. Thanks for coming to see me today:)

Beary Sweet

I've been wanting to color up this image forever, and finally did the other night:) It's called Bear Hugs and is a digi avaiable over at Deedee's Digis! I colored the sweet little scene with Copics and went back over the brown of the bears with my colorless blender to give the "furry" look. I hope you are having a good day, thanks so much for visiting me:)

TT#4- Celebrate Summer

Hope you are having a happy Tuesday! There is another Tuesday Throwdown challenge for this week, Celebrate Summer! I know I sure am now that it is finally warm! I love having the windows open at night and hearing the crickets and the birds early in the morning. For my card I pulled out my Kim Hughes, Summer Trees, a set that *shhh, don't tell* hadn't seen ink yet! It's super cute and fun to play with. All the images are from this set. I paper pieced the bird, tree, and clouds and colored the fence in with Prismacolor pencils and left them unblended for a more "wood" like look. The sun is a 1" punched piece of cardstock. A bit of knotted ribbon finished it off. I hope you are enjoying a beautiful summer day! Thanks for dropping by:)

Embossing and cardstock

And a little chalk made up this little card. No patterned paper here! The Cuttlebug embossing folders are defintely some of my very favorite crafting tools. I love how easy they are to use and how much texture and visual intrest they add to a project. Here I've used the Moroccan Screen and Birds and Swirls, which I colored with some Pastel Pebbles Chalk. The label was cut using the Damask die and embossing set. Be sure to check out Your Memories Here and pick up a few new folders to use in all your projects, and come join us on our new Group at Paper Craft Planet!
Have a blessed day!

Cute as A Button

I must say I love how this card turned out:) The Baby Button Bits set from PTI is fun to play with and so cute! As I've said before, be glad I don't show you ALL the baby cards I make! LOL I'm so blessed to be able to sell these at a local shop here in town, and let me tell 'ya, in the spring and summer they just fly off the shelf! I hope you have a fun weekend planned. We are going to be pretty busy, including attending my hubby's brother's wedding. Should be interesting as it's suppose to be an outside wedding and tomorrow we are suppose to get thunderstorms. Thanks so much for visiting:)

In My Thoughts

Hope you are having a good week...mine has been pretty rough, but I'm hoping today is a better day! I used the new April Daisy clear stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for my card...the image is colored with Copics. I am really loving the aqua with the soft yellow lately. Don't forget you can also purchase this image as a digi so you have lots of options of how to use it:) I'm going to plant a few petunias and pansies today with the kids, hopefully it's not too windy. Hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks for dropping by:)

Birthday Poppies

I do love this Poppies and Greetings set that you can get either as a digi or a clear stamp set from Sweet ''n Sassy Stamps. It's so lovely to color and works great for using some masking to make it a bigger grouping of poppies like I did here on my focal panel. I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils since I stamped it on kraft and I just adore that look. I used some gorgeous October Afternoon paper and a new EK Success border punch. Hope you like it, and thanks for visiting me:)

TT #3

Good morning:) Today's TT challenge for this week is to create a project with a nautical or water theme. Fun, right? So I pulled out my Ocean Friends, Kim Hughes set to create this little scene. I colored it with my Prismacolor pencils and added some glitter and a bit of ribbon. I love making one layer, stamping only cards *sigh* Be sure to hop on over to the Tuesday Throwdown blog to see what other fabulous creations the DT came up with and play along with us this week! Hugs...

2 Cute

I did a little play on words for this LO as the picture was taken when my daughter turned 2, and I do think she's pretty cute ;) More Prima goodies on this one, my lace trim and rosebud ribbon are both Prima and so are the flowers. The title was cut using my Cricut and Lyrical Letters and the scalloped circle was cut using the Easter cart. Of course I had to use the pretty Dew Drops for my flower centers and for a few extra accents. Be sure to check out Your Memories Here to pick up some goodies at a great price! I hope you had a great weekend! Thanks for dropping by!

Time Enough

I rarely make tags, and I mean rarely...but I so enjoyed this one I may just make some more;) I started out with a patterned paper tag (I'm pretty sure it's BG) and stamped one of the butterflies from Sweet 'n Sassy's new clear stamp release, Everyday Miracles, directly on the tag in brown ink. Then I stamped one on the scallop circle and again on another piece of paper so I could color it and cut it out. I used my Copics to color, a MS border punch and a Cuttlebug embossing folder. A pearl trail and some ribbon finished it off. I love this sentiment, such a good reminder to live in the moment. In case you can't read it, it says:
"The butterfly counts not months but moments,
and has time enough."
Make your time count today!

Sweet 'n Sassy Clear Stamps Blog Hop!

I'm so excited for today's blog hop as Sweet 'n Sassy stamps is releasing 6 new CLEAR stamp sets! I hope you've enjoyed seeing the sets so far, and today I am showing you another one:) This one is also in the birth flower series, April Daisy. I love daisies...you know that movie, "You've Got Mail" with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks, and the part where she says her favorite flower is a daisy because they are "such happy flowers." *grin* For my daisy flowers I gave them just a bit of yellow centers a little grey shading and then covered their pretty petals in Clear Star gelly roll glitter. I also added a little pearl to each center. I also used the "out of the box" technique which I haven't done in quite some time.

There are 2 fabulous stamp sets being given away on this hop, but you have to keep hoppin' to find out who is offering up the candy! To be entered be sure to leave a comments on EVERY DT members blog and hop on over to the Sweet 'n Sassy digi blog to leave a comment there also.
