Sweet 'n Sassy Blog hop, Walk On The Wild Side

Welcome to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps blog hop! I'm so glad you've hopped on over to visit me:) I have 2 cards to share with you today. Our theme is featuring "wild" animals but these are so cute you just want to snuggle both of them!

My first card features the adorable set, Doodle Birds. The branch is from Sweet Dreams. Playing around with this set I discovered the littlest bird fit in the bird house! To get her little body to show up and be colored I stamped her on a separate piece of paper, colored her and cut out just the body. So you have her wings and legs stamped directly on the birdhouse and I used a pop dot to raise her body up for some extra dimension. The images are colored with Copics.

My second card uses the oh so cute, Baby Blessings set. I just love this giraffe! I used a fun color combo for this one, at least I thought it was *lol* I just adore that sweet sentiment...makes me want another baby, anyway, back to the card! For the background I used the Beautiful Borders set to make my pattern. I colored the giraffe with Copics and then to give it a little something extra added crackle paper glaze by Ranger. It cracks when it dries, as you can see in the close up shot, gives the overall effect that little extra boost.

I hope you've enjoyed your stop! Be sure to visit all the DT's blogs, the complete list with links is at the very top of my right hand column. And be sure to stop by the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps store, there is a huge sale going on you won't want to miss:)

SSS14- The Earth...

This card is based on the great sketch for this week over at The Sweet Stop. I used the gorgeous set, His Eye Is On The Sparrow. Be sure to go stop by the store, there is a huge sale going on for the next few days!

I colored the image in with my Copics...can I just tell you again how much I love them? I love the clean color you get with them, so different than with the Prismacolor pencils.

Question for you all, would you prefer if I started listing my supplies at the end of my post instead of chattering on about them? Please tell me what you would like better:)

Otherwise the card is pretty simple, but I love how the image came out...hope you do too!

I want to remind you that today starts the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog Hop!

Birthday Gift

This is the last week of the Summer Stamp Star Challenge going on over at Cornish Heritage Farms. The challenge this week was to make a one sheet wonder and turn it into whatever you wanted. I started with an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper and stamped French Script onto it and then randomly stamped the Freesia flower image. I haven't used that image in a long time and love it. To enhance the color in the flower I used my Copics to color in the flower petals and leaves. I then made a little box and with a bit of the sheet left over I made a matching card. Lace, pearls and a tiny butterfly finish my project off. I hope you like it:) It's going to a dear friend whose birthday is next month. Hope you are having a great day! Thanks for stopping by:)

Faith...

I love making completely stamped cards, no pattern paper, just blank paper and ink. The background was made using PTI's Guidelines II and the sparrows and sentiment are from CHF. The brown graduation of color was actually me figuring out a way to fix a goof I did and I really love the result, the card would have been totally different if I hadn't made that mistake:) The twine was threaded through 1/8" holes and is the first time I discovered that works, which is great as twine doesn't always stay put well. I finished it by added a touch of color to the birds and piercing around the scalloped Nestie edge. I hope you are having a good weekend! I so appreciate all the comments you leave me, really makes me smile. **

Showers Of Blessing

I love this image! It's another Sweet 'n Sassy digi stamp, which if you can't spend a lot is great since it's only $4 and you don't have to pay for shipping:) I colored her with my Copics :) and added some subtle shimmer using a Stardust gelly pen. The punch is MS, the photo corner is from a Cuttlebug die and I added some faux dew drops to finish it off. I hope you are having a lovely Friday and have a fun weekend planned! We have my nieces birthday party (which I don't have a card for yet, oops!) and will be having some company over for dinner. And according to my shipping tracking more Copics should be here today!! Thanks for stopping by and as always I love reading your comments:)

Good Friends

Do you have a friend that is more like family? I do, a couple actually. I feel so blessed to have friendships like these. This image just makes me happy, that mouse looks so content....I colored this image with Prismacolor pencils, it was before my Copics ;) The sentiment is from Kim Hughes set Hugs and Kisses. I added some pen work, stitching, inking and lots of layers. I hope you have a lovely day and take time to be thankful for the people that warm your heart:)

SSS13- Something Special

I've been a bit MIA but I have been creating! This card is done using this week's SNSS The Sweet Stop sketch and can you tell what I colored that adorable bear scene with?! COPIC markers!! Oh yes, I have found a new obsession! *LOL* Wondering why it's a Christmas card as well? Pop on over the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps store to find out about the Christmas in July promo going on and how you can get this (which is one of 3) exclusive digi stamps.

So I've jumped on the Copic bandwagon with both feet and must say I love, love, love them! I've been coloring with the Prismacolor pencils for a long time now and got comfortable with them but was always a bit frusturated. The Copics are a whole different story! The color vibrancy and "clean" look you get is just fantastic. I'm afraid my pencils will never see the light of day again!

The card is pretty simple, just added some piercing and Stickles and lots of layering. I love this image! And now I've got a tiny head start on my Christmas cards *lol* I hope you are having a wonderful day! Thanks for coming by and saying hi:)

Never Give Up...

It's week 4 over at the CHF Summer Stamp Star Contest going on and the challenge was to create a scene. I chose to use the beautiful set, Beacon of Hope and the single wheat image stamp to make a soothing ocean scene. I am really pleased with how it came out. I drew in the horizon line and ocean and colored the whole thing with my Prismacolor pencils. I think my favorite part is the seagulls, I just love the feeling they evoke. I hope you have a wonderful day, and remember that no matter what you are going through God has His hand in it and it will all work out for the best. Thanks for stopping by!

Dreams

Good Friday to you all:) Hope you have a had a good week and have something fun in store for the weekend. I got to play around with some of my new CHF stamps and just love them. The green background paper was plain, so I first stamped it with the scrapblock, Vintage Ledger. Then I added the signature/postmark looking stamp from the new ATC line set Key Elements, on top of that. The lace which I stamped and cut out along with the focal image is from the Rummage Bin set, Sweet Bee and the sentiment is from Beacon of Hope.

I wish you could see the image IRL, I added a glitter spica pen to the pussy willows, so pretty. I lightly colored the bees and added some extra shading to the willows also. I finished it off with some hydrangea flowers, piercing, rhinestones and ribbon. I hope you like it:) Thank you so much for visiting, means a lot to me!

These are fun stamps to color or paper piece, which I did both. I hope you are having a great day, it's almost the weekend! I don't know about you but the weeks just seem to fly by...thanks for visiting me:)

Paper Blooms

Have you popped over to the Paper Blooms shop recently? I'll be adding even more goodies today:) I gladly take custom orders so don't hesitate to contact me if you'd like something specific. And be sure to head on over to the Paper Blooms BLOG to see some inspiration:)

Kids Birthday Cards

A couple of birthday cards I've done for a little girl and boy. The owl one features the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, Olivia. I just love her:) The inside of the card finishes the sentiment by saying "it's your bird-day." Too cute. Used some PTI pp which I tend to hoard, but love and added quite a bit of bling to it.

The boy card uses another SNSS set, Dino-mite. Such a perfect set for little boys and I just love this adorable little dino. I stamped him on pp and cut him out, stamped and colored the palm tree and then cut it out and added some sponging for the sky and the little rocks around the dino. Boy cards are fun to make since you can get away with simpler since you can't froo-foo it up:)

I hope you are having a great Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!

Last So Sketchy Card

This is my last So Sketchy card I get to share with you. We were sponsored by Ormolu and I used 3 pretty printed circles for my focal point. I used very unusual colors for me but really like the combo. I added some stamping, dry embossing, ribbon and a few pearls. I hope you like it:) Thanks for stopping by and visiting me.

Flight

This is the card I entered into the CHF Summer Stamp Star Design Challenge for this week, which was using the resist technique. I used several different stamp sets for this card, SEP Vintage Butterflies, Kim Hughes Silhouettes 1 & II, and French Script backgrounder. I seem to be brayer challenged so to get my color and make the emboss pop I sponged my ink on. The popped up butterfly is also made using the resist technique and is a really pretty way to make kind of a shiny embellishment, will have to remember that! To finish it off I stitched, added some lace and a pretty bling butterfly trail. I hope you like it:) Thanks for stopping by and telling me what you think. Have a wonderful day!

Baby Gift Set

I needed a baby gift for a little girl so I pulled out one of my favorite baby images, this adorable stamp from Stampavie called Playtime.

The little onsie in the basket is stamped with Palette ink and the image colored in with a blender pen and more ink. I then heat set it to make it permanent and washable.

Of course I wanted a matching card so I stamped and colored the image again this time using my Prismacolor pencils, Ranger cut'n dry nibs and baby oil to blend. I used the Nestibilites Labels 1 and 4 and a Quick Kutz swirl die, MS punches and lots of stitching and pearls. I also stamped, colored and cut out the flowers and popped them up for added demension. The pretty crocheted flower is from Paper Blooms and I added a pearl brad to the center.

To finish this little ensemble I stamped just the mommy's head and baby onto one of the smaller dies and colored and mounted it to the basket. I love the Stampavie line of stamps and they are holding a DT call and this is my entry. I hope you like it:) Have a wonderful rest of your day and thanks so much for dropping by!

Olivia the owl

Just a very simple card to share today...isn't this owl the sweetest? She is from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and I just {heart} her:) I paper pieced her belly with a bit of pattern paper and cut out a few extra flowers for embellishing. The paper is DCWV The Green Stack and the background paper is some old CTMH. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for dropping by!

Little one

Been making baby cards again:) For this one I pulled out my Gracie set from Sherrod Studio and used one of the flower images to random stamp the background and the adorable little teddy bear for the focal image. I colored him in using Prismacolor pencils and blended with baby oil.

Wanted to share a few tips with you if you use Prismacolor pencils for your coloring that have really made a big difference for me. First, if you have your pencils in their tin and not out in the open to see I highly recommend investing in a some office pencil cups or cute little buckets to store them in so that you can see them and grab them eaisly! I've had my set in the tin it came in and it was very annoying to have to dig through the trays and not be able to see all of them at once. Now they are all in a 3 part pencil holder I found on clearance at Target. I love being able to see all of my colors and just grab what I want, plus the holder is small enough that I can leave it on my desk so my pencils are always ready to use.

The next thing that has also made a huge difference for me is what I use to blend with. I have been using the paper stumps and using a sanding block to remove old color and try to re-sharpen the tip but I was always very frusturated with how imprecisie my control was using the paper stumps. So I decided to try some Ranger Cut 'n Dry nibs and a Marvy blender pen and they work beautifully! They absorb the baby oil wonderfully and the tips on both don't break down so you can have a very sharp, precise tip to blend with. To remove the color I just scribble it on a scrap piece of paper and dip it in the oil again if need be to help pull the rest of the color out of it. If you haven't tried these ideas before I encourage you to! It's made a huge difference in my enjoyment and results in my coloring. If you do try it let me know, I'd love to hear about your experience:) I hope you have a wonderful day!

SNSS & CPS

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is sponsoring the CPS blog and this is my take on the fabulous sketch happening over there! Be sure to pop on over to the SNSS blog and check out the links to see what the rest of the DT came up with.

For my card I used the super cute set, Pond Pals and I turned the sketch sideways. I colored and cut out the cattails and popped them up, stitched and added some pen work. Overall a pretty simple card but I think it came out cute. I just love that sentiment too:)

I hope you have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by!

To Every Thing...

Here is a card I did using the SSS11 sketch. I really love this sketch! Hop on over to the blog to see what the other DT members came up with. I used SNSS Dream Silhouettes for the image and the Encouragement scriptures set for the sentiment. The background was stamped using Vintage Text from Cornish Heritage Farms. I did two ink colors on the flowers and added a bit of stiching and some pearls on the butterflies. I hope you are having a good day! I am having a dear friend come visit, she gets in tonight, so I am off to clean up the guest room which really has evolved into my room:) Thanks for your comments, makes my day!

Oh Say Can You See 4th of July Blog Hop!

I'm so glad you could join the SNR Card Universe Blog Hop! If you came from Melissa Sackman you are on the right track! If you didn't you may want to hop to SNR Card Universe and start at the beginning.

Happy 4th of July! And what would the 4th be without a little apple pie?! My card uses the newest digital stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps. Isn't it yummy?!

I colored the pie with Prismacolor pencils and cut it out and popped it up for dimension. The background panel was stamped with another new release from SNSS, Beautiful Borders. The heart was cut using my Cricut and Lyrical Letter cartridge and I embossed it with Swiss Dots. I added some Frosted Lace Stickles to the pie top to look like the sugar sprinkled top and a bit of stitching and sheer ribbon sewn to a button finished it off.

For this fun card I used the brand new stamps from Sherrod Studios, By the SeaShore. Aren't these two the sweetest? I miss the beach so much, especially during this time of the year as I grew up on the Big Island of Hawaii. I colored Annie and Ollie with Prismacolor pencils as well as the bucket which is a separate image in the set. I cut it out and popped it up. The seashells are also in this set as a border stamp which I stamped 3 times side by side. The rest of the card base I embossed with Divine Swirls. To finish it I added some Distress Stickles to the sand and a bit of knotted twill.

Now how about a little sweet something for you? I own a little Etsy shop, Paper Blooms. If you see something you like in my sold section or are wanting something in a specific color just email me, I am happy to do custom orders!

Would you like to win the goodies above that are from Paper Blooms?! Have a wonderful 4th of July, and remember, we have true freedom only in Jesus Christ!

Sweet 'n Sassy Blog HOP!

I am so excited that my time as a DT member for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has officially begun and I couldn't be more thrilled. I love the stamps that Korin offers but especially love that her goal is to help spread the light of God's love.

Be sure you visit everyone on the hop today, the scheulde with links is on the upper right of my sidebar:)

For my project I wanted to make something a little different. I used the newly released, Light of the World and Beautiful Borders set to create this wall hanging for my guest/scrap room. I used my square plain and scalloped Nesities to cut the panels and stitched around each one after stamping the lighthouse, leaf border and scripture onto each one. I then colored the lighthouse with Prismacolor pencils and lightly sponged Antique Linen Distress ink before adhering it to the ribbon from which it hangs. I am really happy with how it turned out and I hope you like it too!

Now be sure to hop on over and visit Belinda next, but be sure to also make a stop by the Sweet'nSassy store to check out the fun Christmas in July promo going on. Have a wonderful Friday!

Sherrod Studio Grand Opening!

I have 2 cards to share with you today featuring the brand new stamp line from Sherrod Studio. The first is a very special set as when you purchase it a part of the proceeds go toward The Christmas Box Lifestart Initiative, which you can read more about here. Isn't she cute? Her name is Gracie and the flowers and sentiment also come in her set. I colored her using Prismacolor pencils.
This pretty boquet and sentiment come from the set called Ella's Birthday. I colored the boquet with Prismacolor pencils and sponged Antique Linen Distress ink around the edges of the Labels 1. To see both of these stamp sets and the others that are debuting today head on over to the Sherrod Studio blog!
