Miracles...

Life really is a miracle:) Well, I finally felt up to creating but must say when you are sick and your mojo gets sick along with you it's hard to get your rhythm back. I do like how it came out though, especially the butterfly. I stamped the top layer of the butterfly and cut it out of vellum, which really gives it a more "fluttery" feel. The bottom butterfly was stamped and colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with baby oil. The MS punch was stamped with the Beautiful Borders set from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps and the butterly and sentiment is from the In His Time set.

Well, tomorrow is the grand opening for Sherrod Studios! And my stamps came so I will get to share with you! Be sure to pop on over to the Sherrod Studio blog to follow some links to see some sneak peeks today. And don't forget that the Sweet 'n Sassy blog hop has also started! I have a full link schedule for you at the top right on my side bar. I get to join in on the 3rd. Can you believe that it is almost July?! Well, I hope you have a wonderful day and get to create. Thanks for stopping by and I love reading your comments:)

A Scrappy Kind Of Card

A quick post today as I've been hit with a yucky cold the last 3 days...I got my new stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms and I love this new line called, All Things Considered. SO pretty. This is the first card I've made using it. The background is a scrapblock, Vintage Ledger. I hope you are all having a good weekend, I hope to be back to feeling like myself by tomorrow:)

All things...

A simple card to share with you using 2 of the new releases from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, Beautiful Borders and In His Time. I love that leaf border and looking through my patterned paper I found this sheet of ancient paper and thought it would work well. I liked the soft grey/green color and wanted the butterfly to be the pop of color. I colored the butterfly with Prismacolor pencils and cut it out and popped it up, added some stitching and little rhinestones in every other scallop. *When sewing goes terribly wrong just go with it! Make it look like you meant to be all over the place, lol* It's Friday! I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing weekend:) Thanks so much dropping by!

Wonderful News!!

What a wonderful surprise it was to check my email this morning and discover I have been asked to be on the brand new stamp DT for Sherrod Studio!! I am so thrilled and excited:) This is a brand new acrylic stamp company that goes live July 1st, but some sneak peeks start tomorrow! Go check out the Sherrod Studio blog to see the peeks and meet the rest of the DT! I am humbled and so blessed. I hope you are all having a wonderful Friday...I'll be back to share a card with you:)

So Sketchy

This card is based off a great sketch over at the So Sketchy blog. I made yet another baby card;) for this one as I thought the circle shape would be so cute. I do make a lot of baby cards in general because a local store sells them, and it is fun to make baby designs. The cute little duck is from Inkadinkado and the sentiment is PTI, Mixed Messages and the background was stamped using a CHF backgrounder, Petite Pattern. I added some stickles and faux stitching. I hope you are having a great day...it's almost the weekend!

In His Time...

Such a simple saying that means so much...sometimes there are things in life that we want right at this moment and in His gracious way He says no, which sometimes means wait, and sometimes really is just no but all in His time the plan for your life is revealed and it is always what turns out to be what is best.

For this card I used the set Beautiful Borders from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I love this set and I love butterflies so I was excited to stamp this one. I just repeated the border several times from the bottom up stopping where I thought it looked good. *Go from the bottom up, that way your bottom row isn't cut off* I then used my score pal and embossed the two lines in which I placed the sentiment. The sentiment comes from another SNSS set, In His Time. The flower was a paper flower I've had and I ran it through my Cuttlbug in an embossing folder, inked it, layered a silk hydrangea on it with a button and a bit ribbon. To finish it I cut and embossed a cream panel for the top and that's it!

I hope that whatever you want in life you will submit to His time and know that He always has your best in mind:) Thanks for stopping by!

A simple little card to share with you today:) You know by now that I love Cornish Heritage Farms stamps and especially the Kim Hughes line and this card uses a ton from those again. I paper pieced the bird, the flower tops and the birdhouse and the rest is stamped. The base is stamped with the backgrounder, Pretty Pattern and the scalloped long rectangle panel is embossed with Paisely folder even though it's hard to see. The polka dots were stamped using PTI's polka dot basics and the sentiment is from Kim Hughes set Pretty Birds as is the bird, bird house and flowers. The colors are PTI's Sweet Blush and Aqua Mist which I dare say are my favorite colors ever! Added some ribbon treatment and buttons and there you go! Hope you are having a "tweet" day! Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate it so very much:)

A Little Laundry?

Good Monday to you all! Well, I have yet another baby card to share with you today:) I'm not sure many of us really enjoy doing laundry, but I must say since having kids the little tiny clothes are just so sweet...and then as they get bigger it's hard to believe just how tiny they once were! I used all Cornish Heritage stamps for this card. The little trees are actually a branch from Kim Hughes set, Pretty Birds and the onsie is from Baby Love as is the sentiment. The backgrounders I used are Pretty Pattern and Fine Gingham. Colored with Prismacolor Pencils, added some stitching and a punched border and some PTI Sweet Blush twill. I hope you have a wonderful day and if you do have laundry to do just be thankful we have the convience of washers and dryers! :)

Baby

I hope you all are having a lovely weekend so far! Just a simple little baby card to share today. I used two Sweet 'n Sassy stamp sets for this, Beautiful Borders and Pond Pals for that adorable little duck. The sentiment is from PTI, Mixed Messages. I stamped the card base using the circles border and again on the yellow panel, added some dry embossing, stitched on some buttons and tied on some ribbon and added a tiny saftey pin to finish it off. The cute little duck was colored with Prismacolor pencils and is covered in stickles to give him a little blingy goodness;) I hope you have a great rest of your weekend, I am actually going to be doing a little gardening for the first time in several years. I am going to do a container garden as it's SO much easier and no weeds to deal with! Thanks for stopping by and as always I love to read your comments!

Light...

Another stamp set that released this week over at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is this beautiful set called Light of The World. I decided to do the spotlight technique and colored just a portion of the lighthouse, cut it out and mounted it back on the fully stamped image. The thin circle was cut using two circle Nesties and I colored it yellow with some Bic Markers. The background paper is BG and I added some stitching and brads. A pretty simple card but I like how it turned out, and hubby really like it:) I hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Tulip Girl and a peek

I just adore this little Tulip Girl from the SEP line at Cornish Heritage Farms. I colored her with Prismacolor pencils and added a lot of sponging with Antique Linen Distress ink to the panel she is stamped on. I also used the French Backgrounder also from CHF and the sentiment is from Beacon of Hope. I layered and stitched, added pearls and a punched MS border and added a bow flower combo with a Paper Blooms in the mix. And do you spy the peek of my newest product?! That's right, adorable little crocheted butterflies! They come in 2 sizes, the larger being just a bit bigger than the one I used on my card. I'm going to list my first set of these on the shop so be sure to pop on over and check them out. And just like the blooms they can be made in any color you want! I hope you have a wonderful day and be blessed:)

New Life

And a new release over at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!! I used two of the new releases for this card, In His Time and Beautiful Borders. I just love the heart border and wanted to use it even though it's not Valentine's. I paired it with one of the butterflies from In His Time and the scripture is also from the In His Time set. The butterfly was stamped twice, once on the Nestie base and again on white cardstock so I could color it in. I added some Platinum Stickles to the wings and lots of stitching. I love border stamps as they can be used just for a border or to make background paper, which is what I did for the white panel behind the circle. Make sure you go check out what released and I'll be showing you a few more cards with some of the new sets soon:) Have a wonderful day!

Very Pink Card and Winner!

Another card based on a So Sketchy sketch. I went bright on this one! :) I used some PTI Raspberry Fizz paper, black and some vellum that I dry embossed. The image is a die cut from the Home Decor Cricut cartridge. I stamped the white polka dots on the base with CTMH white daisy ink and added some ribbon and rhinestones. The sentiment is two little stamps from PTI's Mixed Messages set and each word is stamped on a tiny Cuttlebug tag. Finished it off with some stitching:)

Okay, now onto the winner of my blog candy! I so enjoyed reading what you are all thankful for, because despite how good or not so good things are going we always have something to be thankful for! The randomly drawn winner is...................................................................................

BETHIE J.!!

Congrats! Please email me your addy and I'll get your goodies in the mail this week:) I wish I could send everyone something...Have a great day and remember to continue to be thankful!

More Cards for Animals

The Limelight's task is open for you to participate in! We need your help in helping animal shelters raise money. If you have cards that are already made that are themed appropriately for being sold in an animal shelter please contact me or go to the Limelight site HERE and find out how you can help and send your cards in! Here are a few more that I have made to send. I've done a variety of more embellished to simple so that there is a good mix, you never know what appeals to people! The above card uses His Eye Is On The Sparrow stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and added a punched flower from scraps of paper.

These were also made with scraps, that can be a great way to use up your leftovers and make coordinating cards, even if they aren't all exactly the same. The kitty images are Fluffles the Cat and I'm not sure where to dog came from;) I hope you'll consider sending in some cards for this great cause, I know that most of you have a card stash just sitting in a box, so why don't you pull out a few and send them off to help out our furry little friends. Have a great weekend!

So Sketchy- Thinking of You

Another card based on another fab sketch over at So Sketchy! I adore this little Tulip Girl image from the Saturday Evening Post at Cornish Heritage Farms. She reminds me of my daughter as she looks like she has got her bottom lip sucked in:) So sweet.

The background panels were all stamped using Ornamental Beauty scrapblock also at CHF. I then cut the stamped piece apart. I embossed the pink card base and used the reverse side, so the de-embossed side, for a softer look. The little girl is colored with Prisma Pencils and I hand stitched with embrodiery thread around the oval Nesite frame. The middle flower was die cut out of velum, wrinkled and inked and the other two flowers are silk hydrangeas. I finished it with a few QuickKuts flourishes. I hope you have a lovely day!

Wild Flower

This was the first time my daughter held a flower:) I've had this idea for this LO in my head for awhile and these were the perfect pics for it. My daughters name means "beautiful flower" but she's got a streak of wild in her too!

The background paper is BG Urban Prairie. I just {heart} that paper!! I used my Cricut to cut the title using Lyrical Letters, the font you get by just pushing the alpha keys, no name for it if that makes sense;) The die for the journaling was cut with the Cricut too, using Storybook. It may be hard to see, but the ivory panel was stamped with a backgrounder. The border was punched with Friskars Apron Lace and to finish it I added rhinestones and some Prima flowers along with flowers from Paper Blooms.

I hope you have a delightful day! Remember to look for joy in the little things, like weeds in your back yard:)

An Award!

I was surprised and honored to get this award this morning:) Lauren over at LEM Photography and Papercrafting.
There are a few requirements to accepting the Honest Scrap Award and they are as follows. A) I must thank the person who gave me the award and list their blog and link. B) I must list 10 honest things about myself. C) I must put a copy of the The Honest Scrap logo on my blog. D) I must select at least 7 other worthy bloggers and list their links. But, you know how hard it is for me to list just 7 others, so if you read my blog regularly consider yourself awarded:)

How about I do tell you 10 honest things about myself:

1) I am absolutely terrified of heights. I don't know why but I am.

2) I love the ocean and miss it a lot. I grew up in Hawaii so it is a part of most childhood memories.

3) I use to dance ballet. Not professionally but did many performances and loved it.

4) I do not get stage fright dancing, but speaking publicly is not on my favorite list of things to do!

5) I have never in my whole life had a cavity.

6) When I was a young girl I wanted to be a Marine Biologist for years, until I found out about all the schooling and especially about the math!

7) I have what's called Raynauds and have to be careful not to get really cold as I can have a bad enough reaction to go into shock.

8) I love being a mom and pray and hope for another baby to love.

9) I love to go barefoot. (more Hawaii upbringing;)

10) I spend way to much time on the computer!!!

Thank you all for coming to visit me:) Now grab that award for yourself!

Easy to Mail

Sometimes you just want or need to make a simple card that is easy to mail, no extra postage required. But, they don't have to be boring! The first card I used the gorgeous set, Dream Silhouettes from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I decided to leave a sentiment off as I like the feel of the bird flying across the moon...leaving off a sentiment sometimes is nice too:)
This card is for a friends little boy that is turning a year old. I just love this little dino! I stamped him on patterned paper and cut him out and the rest of the scene was stamped directly onto the white cardstock base and colored with my Primas. I did a bit of sponging using a circle Nestie for the "clouds". This set is also from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called Dino-Mite. You'll be seeing a lot of their images now! ;)

Don't forget to leave a comment for the blog candy, it's right below this post. Hope you have a great day!

The Sweet Stop

Every Saturday hop on over to the Sweet Stop for a sketch and inspiration! I joined in this week and just had to use this beautiful digi stamp, Forget Me Not availible here. Not only is it a beautiful image when you purchase it a portion of the cost goes toward fighting a devastating disease, Alzheimer's.

I printed the digi stamp out twice so I could have one image to cut out the 3 flowers I selected to be popped up for more dimension. The image was colored using Prismacolor pencils and blending with my colorless blender pencil. I did find that the printer ink tended to smear more using baby oil but my Prisma colorless blender worked really well.

The aqua patterned paper is from PTI and the stip of that yummy pink is from BG, Sultry pad. I used a MS border punch, embossed one of them, added some gems and pearls and a few Quick Kuts flourishes and a tiny EK Success photo corner.

I hope you'll come join us! Sketches are always so much fun. Thanks for stopping by and as always your comments make me smile:) Be blessed.

A Purrfect Card Set

For the rest of this month you still have time to help with the current task going on over at the Limelight. We are making cards and other items that will be sold to benefit animal shelters. All of my furbabies are rescues so I know the importance of this endeavor. Here is just a sampling of one of the card sets I have made. I found the stamp set at Mike's by Inkadinkado and just had to get it. I have several people in my life that love cats, so it will be well used. I did a variety of sentiments and kept the layout the same so that they would coordinate. I hope you'll consider getting involved! Be sure to visit the Limelight site for more info:)

Life is Beautiful

I get to share another So Sketchy card with you today:) I loved the sketch for this one and went for a dramatic look. The rectangles are cut with my Cricut using Lyrical Letters. The borders are stamps from Sandy Lion and the pop of red with the sentiment stamp is from a Cornish Heritage Farms set, Ornamental Beauty. I colored in the flowers on the image with Prismacolor pencils and to finish it added 3 dark red gems. I hope you have been having a great week! Thanks for visiting:)
