The Box

Even the box is scrap related as it was the box my big Cricut Expression came in:) My son thought it was a great seat to watch a little TV from, so cute. The paper is from the DCWV Green Stack, I love this paper line. Such cute patterns and a lot of it is great for boys. I also got the chipboard pack which I rarely get, but just had to have it and used it for the title and little "what a hoot" sentiment. The trees are from Kim Hughes set, Making the Grade availible at Cornish Heritage Farms. Hope you have a laid back day:)

Floral Note Card Set

I made this set of six note cards and holder for my MIL's birthday. I decided to leave a sentiment off so that she could use them for anything. The flowers are from the Shady Tree Studio line at Cornish Heritage Farms. I love these flowers as they are big enough to stand on their own and so much fun to color. The background was also stamped using Scalloped backgrounder also from CHF. I added just a bit of PTI Ripe Avacado ribbon and inked the edgeds of the oval Nesibility. I wanted them to be completely flat so she didn't have to worry about postage cost.

I have some really BIG and exciting news to share with you all on Monday! And part of it will be some blog candy:) Thanks for coming by...hope you have a great Friday!

Clear Dollar Stamp Guest DT submission

I decided to try my hand again for the Clear Dollar Stamps June Guest Designer spot. This month the challenge was to use designer paper, brads, ribbon and one stamp set including the sentiment or you could computer generate one. I used Charlie Daisy again and pulled out some adorable MM Chloe's Closet paper. The little flower brads I've had for ages and was happy to use up so many:) The ribbon is some $ store cream grosgrain and I added a punched border with my new Friskars Apron Lace punch.

This card will go to a good friend of mine who loves horses and she just got one of her own, so I am very happy for her! I hope you like it:) Thanks for taking a peek and for your wonderful comments. Be happy!

The Greatest of These...

Well, I have a a very stressful week which has just gotten a lot better! On Monday my husband had a chance to work some overtime and took it. He works in a big manufacturing plant where they make napkins, towels and toilet paper. He is the one the fixes these huge machines when they break down. While working an accident happened and his right hand got trapped/crushed in a big, heavy gear of the machine. It wasn't running or anything, it had been jammed and suddenly fell. He had to get 20 stitches and they were very concerned about a tendon in one finger possibly being severed. We just found out that that finger will be fine and he didn't need extra surgery! We had already planned a week off so by the time he goes back to work his finger should be healed enough for him to work. I am so thankful and relieved. So, now that all that has settled I have time to post again:)

My card uses a Thomas Kinkade image A Perfect Yellow Rose, availible at Cornish Heritage Farms. I colored it using Prismas. I was going for a photo vintage tint look and like how it came out. The background was stamped using Spanish Script and the flourishes are from the Rummange Bin, Beautiful, and the sentiment is from Scripture Essentials 1 also at CHF. The flower is from Paper Blooms. Thanks so much for visiting!

Rock a Bye Baby....

Had fun making this cute little baby card with a play on the Rock-a-bye baby song:) The entire thing is stamped, a backgrounder, Petite Pattern, and then 2 Kim Hughes sets, Baby Love and Pretty Birds for the images, available at Cornish Heritage Farms. Colored with Primas and the blue was sponged on. Added some faux stitching and white pen work. Hope you have a great day! Thanks for stopping by:)

So Sketchy Sunday

Good Sunday to you! I have a So Sketchy card to share with you today using another fabulous circle sketch by Ally. I used my Cricut to cut the circle card base and then Nestibilites to cut the scallop and plain circle mats. The tulip image was stamped and then colored with Prismacolor pencils and the sentiment is from Mona Lisa Moments, Friend Centers availible at Cornish Heritage Farms. The pretty flourishes were also cut with my Cricut. To finish it I added a bit of faux stitching and inking. Hope you are having a lovely Sunday and if you have tomorrow off have a great long weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

How About A LO

Hopefully you will be seeing a few more LO's from me as I am really getting back to doing them. I have re-connected with my Cricut and enjoy making them again:) I love this BG paper, Urban Prairie and had to use it with this pic of my daughter. I have the matching stamp set too so I got to combine stamping with all my Cricut cuts which I love. I used a new cart, Lyrical Letters which I highly recommend getting! It's got tons of extras on it and 7, yes 7 different fonts! The little journaling spot was also stamped using the recipe box from Ornamental Beauty from Cornish Heritage Farms. I scrap my son also just so you know*lol* but little girl pages are easier for me since I can go on pink and flower overload! Thank you for all your comments and for visiting. Hope you have a wonderful Saturday!

PTI Princesses Blogging Group Challenge #3

I am part of a blogging group and every couple of weeks we have a challenge and this time it's my turn to host:) My challenge to you is to make a one layer, no other paper besides the card base, stamps only card! Hope it sounds fun!:)

I love one layer cards, they are usually fast, easy to mail and I love that they focus on purely stamping. For my two cards I pulled out my PIT Wishing You set for the focal images. The first card also uses PTI's Polka Dot Basics and some Sandy Lion border stamps. The second card was even faster than the first and I decided to use the same stamps I already had out. I really like the clean and simple look and am really liking the color combo on the first card of Avacado, Spring Moss, Chocolate, Aqua Mist and Raspberry Fizz.

I hope you all play along! Can't wait to see your one layer wonders!:)

Paper Blooms Challenge #8- Red, White and Blue

This week over at Paper Blooms we are celebrating Memorial Day by using the colors Red, White and Blue. You don't have to do a patriotic theme, just use those colors. Here is my card for the challenge. The background is all stamped, End Diamonds and Spanish script and the sentiment is from Motivational Centers from Cornish Heritage Farms. The leaf sprig was cut with my Circut and embossed and the bloom and trim are from Paper Blooms. Do you like the lacey trim? I'm going to be adding some to the shop! Please come visit us and join in:) Hope you have a wonderful day!

Little Dear

A bit of a non-traditional baby card done all with stamps, there is no pattern paper on this one! Isn't that row of flowers the cutest? It's from a Heidi Grace baby stamp set I got at Mikes with a coupon. The scallops at the very top are from PTI. The "dear" I hand wrote and that adorable deer image is Chloe, from Kim Hughes available at Cornish Heritage Farms. The clouds are from another Kim Hughes set, Whimsical Wishes. Colored in with Prismas and I cut out and popped up Chloe. I hope you have a wonderful day! I'm off to visit a friend this morning:)

Lovely

I finally got my hands on some of the newest stamps released over at Cornish Heritage Farms, Ornamental Borders scrapblock and Ornamental Beauty and Tree Swallows. I love how this design turned in to a monochromatic look. I added just a splash of pink with my Prisma pencils.

Well, dear hubby and I had a fabulous time out! It was so relaxing and fun. We went actually went out of town to a creek that is spring fed and walked around this "park" area, so pretty. It had a little bird reserve and everything. I didn't take pics, though I thought about it, but sometimes just memories are the best.

I've added several new mini kits to the Paper Blooms shop and I'm going to be adding trim! These will be shorter pieces as they are all hand crocheted by me and you can't cut them, so I am making them card size appropriate but they would work just as well on a scrapbook page too. Thanks for visiting and all your lovely comments, makes my day!

Happy Birthday Dad

Tomorrow is my Dad's birthday so of course I wanted to make him a card. I used all Cornish Heritage Farms stamps for this, except the sentiment. The background is End Diamond and the lighthouse and sail boat are from Beacon of Hope, Scene it! line. I really enjoyed stamping a "scene", it's the first time I have and for certian people/occasions it just really works. I stamped the images onto Kraft from PTI and colored with my Prismas. The sentiment is from PTI also. Added a bit of piercing and called it good. I hope he likes it.

I am now carrying mini kits in the Paper Blooms shop. They are super cute if I do say so myself:) I am adding little handmade felt embellishments along with the blooms and some coordinating ribbon, buttons, stick pins etc. Please take a look! It's free shipping if you are in the U.S!

It's a bit late in coming but my dear husband and I are going out tonight to celebrate Mother's Day. He had to work last weekend so we never got to do anything special. My parents are going to watch my two littles and we are going out, alone, for the first time in 3 years!! I'm looking forward to it:) Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

So Sketchy Friday

Another great sketch over at the So Sketchy blog! I loved all the ovals, would have probably never thought of that on my own;) All the ovals were cut with a classic Nestie and the swirly ones were stamped with a background stamp from Verve. The image is yet another one of my own:) I love that quote which is from Motivational Centers available at Cornish Heritage Farms. The butterfly is a BG stamp cut out twice, you may recognize it from the MDC blog roll. A bit of punched lace and a few rhinestones to finsh it off. I hope you have a wonderful Friday and no matter what's going on in your life, don't give up!

MDC Card Challenge Thursday

This week over on the Mother's and Daughter's blog the challenge is to use polka dots. Not hard since I think most of us use them a lot. So I tried to add a few extra "polka dotty" elements to my card. I fussy cut all those little owls and mounted them on 1" punched circles so they would be sitting in a big polka dot. Then the MS punched border has lots of holes in it resembling polka dots and the yummy background and pattern paper by BoBunny added to the whole dotty feel. Make sure to visit the blog and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Sweet Pea

With the blogging group I'm a part of it was Michelle's turn to host the challenge, and it was a good one! Ink up a set that hasn't seen some love in a while. So I did just that by using Green Thumb to make a sweet little baby card. I also used Retro backgrounds for my patterned paper. The tiny green flower is a center from Beautiful Blooms, so yea! I managed to use 3 sets on one card:) I added some paper glaze to my "peas" which makes them shiny and a bit raised in person. I used Hibiscus and Ripe Avocado for my colors...I hope you like it! And remember to pop on over to the Paper Blooms blog to be inspired by the DT!

A Card and a LO

I was asked to make a graduation card for a lady at my church and really enjoyed coming up with this one. I am really trying to use my Cricut more and use die cuts...I have been primarily stamping for the past year or so and yet have a huge amount of Cricut stuff too! So, I incorporated a die cut sentiment and the little diploma. I love these flowers from Cornish Heritage Farms, they are called Artys Blooms from the Shady Tree Studio line. I stamped a background using Spanish Script and the lovely flourishes are from the Rummage Bin line, Beautiful. The image was colored with Prismas.
So, in the effort of using my cricut more I also want to do more LO's. I really do enjoy preserving the pics of my family. All embellishment is from the Cricut on this one, and I just adore those birds! Aren't they the cutest? I did add a bit of stamping because that's my real goal, use die cuts and stamping together. I hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for visiting!

Mother's and Daughter'sCreations First Annual Blog Roll

Happy Mother's Day to all of you! And big hugs to those of you that this is is a hard day...whether you don't have your mom with you or you long to be a mom. Well, I'm going to share a couple of pictures with you and in doing so discovered that I don't have a recent picture of my mom and I together! Something I'll need to remedy today:) My mom and are blessed with a very close relationship and I am so grateful. She is truly one of my best friends. And she is an amazing Grandmother to my children. I thought I'd share one of my earliest memories of her with you.

I was about 4 years old and we had chickens. I remember having a basket to go collect the eggs in and loved it. Well one day one of the chickens escaped, and my mom went running around the outside of the house to catch it. It is a very funny memory to me because I can still see her running bent over with her arms out stretched trying to catch this silly chicken:) She did catch it after what seemed a very long time to me and I don't think I'll ever forget that. It was a lesson of sorts. Perseverance, don't give up no matter how hard things are, even if you are running after a dream, or a lost chicken;) Here are a couple of photos for you, not the best quality but they do reflect our real life.

My Mom and my two blessings

Me and my two loves

Using scraps of paper and some simple embellishments you can whip together a little magnet gift in 10 minutes. Recognize the flower embellies? Yep, those are the ones I made just a couple of days ago. I printed out a wallet size picture of my daughter, punched a cute border, matted it on some coordinating paper and viola! Paper Blooms Challenge #6

This week over at the Paper Blooms blog the challenge to is create something for that special woman in your life, whether she is your mom or just a very dear friend. For my project I picked up a $1 wooden bird house and decided to make it pretty for my mom for Mother's Day. She loves little things like this and if she papercrafted she's be a clean and simple kind of gal, so that's what I went with.

First I painted the house white, nice and clean looking and springy! Then I painted on some stems and grass. Then came the blooms that can be found HERE. I added a tiny rhinestone to the center of each one. For the eves I punched some pretty brown and polka dot paper with my MS punch that also embosses, gives it a little extra something in person. And what is a bird house without some birds?! I stamped my favorite birds from 2 different sets of Kim Hughes, Pretty Birds and Mocha Chia, availible at Cornish Heritage Farms.

I hope she likes it! I am very happy with how it came out and it was a fairly fast project too. Please come on over to the blog and join us, we'd love to see what you create!!

Day 7 of the Mothers and Daughters Creations First Annual Mothers and Daughters Traditions Blog Roll

With just a few simple supplies you can create your own custom embellishments. Try fussy cutting some flowers out of pattern paper and layering them on top of each other. If the paper is double sided alternate the sides. Got some flower punches? Punch scraps of left over cardstock and or pattern paper, layer and finish off with a rhinestone center. And then there is always stamping. Stamp an image twice on a scrap piece of cardstock or pattern paper, cut out and layer together using a pop dot for more dimension. Hand made embellishments don't need to take a lot of time or supplies and will perfectly cooridinate with what you already have on hand.
This is lucky Day #7 of the Mothers and Daughters Traditions Blog Roll. We’re getting away from cards and scrap pages to take a crack at recipe cards. Share your recipes and get some cool ideas for making recipe cards from Melissa. (Hint, I hear she has a template to share as well.) Drop by and see what Robin, Giovana, and Laurie have also come up with.
Don't forget to visit the MDC blog and store!

So that's what I did:) The yummy papers are from K&Co. and the words and melon were cut with my Cricut. I added some rhinestones, stitching, a punched border and some pen/ink work. Hope your day is as delightful as a juicy piece of melon! Thanks for stopping by!
