Kazan's Sketch 12

Here is my card for this week's sketch at htpp://2sketches4you.blogspot.com

This was a fun one for me. I saw this quote on a stamp set recently and wasn't able to purchase the set but loved the sentiment so much that it was my inspiration for this card. The background is PTI Aqua Mist and I stamped and heat embossed the snowflakes in white. The butterfly and flourish are cut with my Cricut and Home Accents and I stamped and embossed gold snowflakes on the butterfly and popped it up on demensionals. The scallop edge is a Martha Stewart punch. I finished it off with some PTI twill ribbon, some faux stiching and some bling. I hope you like it! Thanks for visiting and for leaving your sweet comments:)

All That Scraps Challenge (23)

I only have 2 sets of C.C Designs stamps but I love them! I want to order more soon. The Wed. challenge this week was a color one, so this is my take on it. I don't have any SU! colors so I had to match with what I had. I just love these little guys. I think I'll save this for an anniversary card:) Thanks for coming by!

Merry Christmas

I just recently bought the Cricut cartridge, Home Accents and can I just say how much I am in looooove! If you have a Cricut and you love flourishes I highly recommend it...so many pretty cuts. This is this the first card I've made with it. I cut the partridge and the leaf border that I used to make the wreath. The sentiment is from Martha Stewart and I embossed it in white detail powder. The card base is PTI Spring Moss and I dry embossed it with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder and then lightly distressed the edges of the bird and floral panel with Antique Linen. To finish it off I added a couple of primas with a bling brad and some Studio G glitter glue for the red berries on the wreath. Thanks for visitng!

A Christmas Card and a Thank You

This was a very simple Christmas card I made to try out one of the new Studio G stamp sets. I like the simplicity of the natavity scene and the cross in the design. I also like that you could easily mask out the cross if you wanted. The sentiment also came in the set. The backgound is Inkadinkado Damask which I just love! So pretty...I inked it with Water Lily Green from Palette. The flowers are from Mikes (the bridal ones) and I used the new Studio G glitter glue for a bit of red. The ovals were cut with my Nesties.

The Thank You card was also simple as I needed to make several (10). I first embossed with a classic square with my Nesties, stamped some polka dots with Pure Poppy ink and Polka Dot Basics (PTI) and matted it behind the scalloped circle. The Thank you and image is from Kim Huges set "Cute Curls", which is a super cute set:) I went over the vine and leaf with a green glitter pen and added some red to the ladybug and dotted the middle of each scallop. I inked the edges of the scallop and was done. I like how it came out, clean and simple but I think the embossing makes it look more finished.

Thanks for looking and I love to read your comments!

Poppicrafts

I stumbled upon a new blog to me yesterday called Poppicrafts. (http://poppicrafts.blogspot.com) and they are having a card competition with a great prize, so I decided to enter. You had to make a card that had the colors or either green, pink, black or white and couldn't use an image. Mine ended up having all the colors!

I first stamped my card base with Spanish Script backgrounder from CHF in Spring Moss (PTI). Then I stamped the flower vine from Fancy Pants, From The Garden in Toile Pink (Palette). It was a bit lighter than I thought it would be so I decided to use black pen and trace around all the swirls and I actually like how it came out! Next I stamped the flowers again onto another piece of paper in Belle Rose (Paltte) and cut out the flowers and adhered them with demensional foam. With my Friskars Threading Water Punch I punched out the black scallops and with my Oval Nesties cut and embossed an oval. The sentiment is from the Fancy Pants set also. The ribbon is Sweet Blush (PTI) and the butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch. I added some faux stiching and paper piercing and finished it off with some Coffee Ice stickles. It was a fun card to make! Thanks for visiting!

2sketchesforyou Kazan's Sketch #11

This week at http://2sketchesforyou.blogspot.com/ Kazan had a great sketch. I had alot of fun with this one. Isn't that snowman so cute?! I got him from CHF. I colored him in with my prismacolor pencils and baby oil. The circle I cut with my Nestie and the scallop was punched with Friskars Threading Water punch. I've had this designer paper for quite some time and decided to quit hoarding it and use it! The velvet ribbon was some from Target's $spot. The holly leaves were cut with my Cricut and the snowflake with my Cuttlebug. The flower was hand cut from the pp. The sentiment is from a Martha Stewart set. I added some sewing, rhinestones and stickles to finish it off. I hope you like it! Thanks for looking:)

Hello

I recently got to play with CHF Kim Hughes Kissable Tree and it is so cute. The stamp I chose to "kiss" it with wasn't the best for getting alot of pattern to transfer, but I still like how it came out. The birds are from Kim Hughes Pretty Birds and the sentiment is from Cute Curls. The tree is really big, my card is a standard 5 1/2 x 4 1/4" so it easily takes care of a focal element so this came together really fast which is always fun. The tree is stamped with Terracotta Adriondack ink, I am really liking that brand of ink, it's by Ranger. The pp was some I've had for a long time, so I have no idea who it's by LOL Thanks for looking and I appreciate comments!

2sketches4you Laura's Sketch #10

This is the card I came up with using the sketch at http://2sketches4you.blogspot.com for this week. I turned it, that's the only way I could see it LOL.

The scalloped border is punched with my Friskars Threading Water. The bird is chipboard and popped up on demensionals. I painted him white and stamped a flourish from Autumn Leaves and stickeled on it with gold. The Joy stamp is from Martha Stewart. The PP is some I've had, don't know who it's by. The flowers are prima and I cut out the snowflakes with my cuttlebug and they have gold stickles in the center. I finished it off with some lace from Walmart.

Thanks for visiting:)

Cuttlebuge Challenge #2

This week at the http://cuttlebugspot.com the challenge was to sand. I used CTMH cardstock to emboss and my background then sanded it with some sandpaper. The butterfly (Inkandinkando) I stamped in Pure Poppy (PTI) and cut it out. It's hard to see, but the white sections of the wings is stickled with Stardust. I used a cuttlebug mini tag for the sentiment which is from PTI Mixed Messages added some ribbon and white pen work. Thanks for visiting!

Over at http://sketchesbytamara.blogspot.com this is the card sketch for this week.

I had fun with this one and it went together quickly. I cut the card base into a scalloped circle using my large scalloped Nestie. I prismacolor penciled my water lily flower, stamped the round flowers in Antique Linen Distress ink and cut the leaves out after stamping them in Clover (adriondak ink). The sentiment is from an Inkandinkando set. The lily is popped up and the ribbon is from Walmart. I inked the edges with chalk ink and was done:) Thanks for all your comments, I love reading them!

Cuttlebug Challenge

There is a new site called the cuttlebug spot (http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com) where you are challenged to use your cuttlebug. Here is the card I made for this week's challenge. You were to ink a cuttlebug embossing folder, so I inked mine with Vineyard Berry from CTMH. The bird is a new stamp I got from Mikes made by Inkadinkando and the sentiment is from a Martha Stewart set I found at Big Lots for a great price. I colored in the bird with my Prismacolor Pencils and blended with baby oil. I added a bit of sparkle to the bird and berries with my Sakura clear star pen. Thanks for looking!

Challenge Card for 2Sketches4You

Over at http://2sketches4you.blogspot.com they had this sketch up for this week. This is what I came up with:

The stamps are from CHF, Kim Hughes Shilhoutte Blooms and the dragonfly is from Inkandinkado, Patterned Bugs. The wings are popped up on deminsionals. The background panel is lightly stamped with chalk ink and the front panels are stamped in Adriondak ink in slate and Palette ink in Ballet Blue. The scallop border is a Martha Stewart punch. I used my Scor-Pal to add some scoring detail and used Antique Linen Distress ink around all the edges along with some darker brown chalk ink. The ribbon is from Mikes and if you click on the card you'll be able to see the shimmery dragonfly wings and a bit of sparkle on the flowers. I added the shine with my Sakura Clear Star pen. This was a fun sketch! Thanks for looking:)

Wall Hanging

I have been wanting to make this wall hanging for my daughter for months now and I finally got around to doing it. I am really happy with how it came out!
I used PTI cardstock in Spring Moss and Sweet Blush and ribbon in Sweet Blush and Berry Sorbet. I first started by cutting my letters with my Cricut at 5 1/2" using MiniMonograms. I love the font! Then I cut each Spring Moss sheet to 6x6 and stamped the second smallest polka dots from PTI's Polka Dot Basics with VersaMark and heat embossed them in white. That was a bit time consuming but added alot. Then I went about embellishing the letters. I added faux stiching on all of them and pearls and some bling. The butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch. The flowers I got at Mikes ages ago. To hang them I bought a package of cute binder clips (at Mikes) and threaded a narrow piece of shimmery white ribbon through, nailed a small picture nail in the wall and viola! It adds so much to her little room and it was so much fun to make. Thanks for stopping by!
