Verve Visual Color Challenge

I just got the May flower pack from Verve Visuals newest release and love, love, love these stamps! I couldn't wait to play, so what better way than take on their color challenge. I don't have SU! colors, so I substitued using PTI colors. I would have never on my own put these colors together but I really like how it came out.
When thinking about what I wanted to do and looking at all the colors, this idea popped into my head to do a window card. I really like all the sentiments in the new sets, but I especially fell in love with this one. It is so true how flowers are given in joy or sorrow and in each situation bring a bit of joy. I used Floral Whimsy for all the stamping except for the butterfly that is from Petals and Stems.
I first scored and cut my base, Aqua Mist, down to 5 1/2x 5 1/2" and decided on how big I wanted my window. Using one of my square Nesties I cut it out. Next I took the next largest square from the set and cut it out of Lemon Tart to mat behind my window. Then I cut two strips of PTI white for the panes.
On Berry Sorbet I stamped the two vases with Versafine Onyx Black and cut them out. Then I drew a light pencil line to show me where to stamp my flowers for my vases. I then stamped the flowers in Berry Sorbet and Sweet Blush using Spring Moss for the stems. I colored in the petals with a Gold Sakura Gelly Roll Pen to give it just a bit of shine. I drew the little white dots on the vases with the white Gelly Roll also Sakura. The vases are popped up with demensional adhesive.
For the bottom mat I cut out Berry Sorbet and Spring Moss, dry embossing the Spring Moss with my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. I selected an oval from my Nesties that would fit the sentiment and cut it out using Summer Sunrise and embossed it. I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Black. Then I punched the ribbon slits and threaded Spring Moss ribbon through.
For my butterfly I stamped her on Summer Sunrise, cut it out. I then stamped the butterfly on the Aqua mist base so I didn't have to try and cut out the antena. I used foam demensional adhesive to adhere my butterfly to the base. I then lightly drew a flight pattern and stamped her trail using the two little dots.
To finish it off I faux stitched around the entire card and the mats using the white gelly roll, paper piercing the oval mat that has the sentiment on it.
I hope you like it as much as I do! I sure had fun creating it...check out the verve site for their new stamps!

A couple of cards

I decided to play with one of my Verve Visual stamp sets, Thankful Blossoms. I love these stamps! (I just got a new order yesterday of the May flower pack and can't wait to play with those:) I chose to use Sweet Blush and Berry Sorbet and white for my colors with black accents. It really is fun to utalize your stamps by cutting them out and layering them as I did with the flowers. The top swirly flourish is a new set I got not long ago from Inkadinkando, love the little polka dots in it!

This was a very simple card, but I think it's really pretty. The background paper is K&Co. and the stamps are CHF Shiloutte Blooms I. I used a combo of Tea Dye Distress ink and creamy brown chalk ink. A corner rounder made my bottom scallops.

I am anxiously awaiting some new stamp storage I ordered. They are the Inque Botique Stamp Keepers and I am super excited to get them...I'll let you know I how I like them. I really need to get more organized with my stamps since my collection is beginning to get out of control. LOL This hobby is so addictive!

Supplies:

Stamps: Thankful Blossoms, Dot Flourishes, CHF Silhoutte Blooms I

Ink: Tea Dye, Versa fine Black, Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush, Jardin Moss

Other: PTI cardstock white, Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush, corner rounder, scrap ribbon

Finally!

I finally got blogger to upload! Here is a card I did the other day for a special friend. It is quite demensional though it's hard to tell from the pic. Used my Nesties for all the mats (I have said how much I love those things?) Anyway...the adorable birdie stamp is from Inkadinkado, Birds Galore. Cardstock is Aqua Mist and Berry Sorbet (PTI) and some scrap. The card base is embossed with the Swiss Dots. Ribbon is PTI Berry Sorbet stitched. Thanks for looking!

Mother's Day Cards

This one is for my mom. She loves embossed papers, decorative edging and roses so I made sure to incorporate all those elements. I also sewed on the borders and did some stamping.

This one is for my MIL. She loves the desert and I really loved this prickly pear stamp from CHF. It was so easy to color in using my Prisma Color Pencils. The oval and scalloped oval mats are from my Nesties. The paper is from K&Company.
Supplies:
Stamps: PTI BBT, CHF
Ink: Versafine onyx black, Ranger Distress Ink in Walnut and Tea Dye, Black Stazon
Tools: Martha Stewart scallop lace edge punch, Nesties,Cuttlebug embossing folder

Baby Gift Set

I made this set for some friends of ours that recently had a baby. The tin is fittingly an empty formula can! The photo album I found at Big Lots for $1 and altered it to match the tin. The letters on the tin are from one of my Cuttlebug alphas and I used up some of the many buttons I have. It's hard to see, but the star is embossed with my Cuttlebug also. Have a great weekend!
